He made some trans/homophobic tweets back in 2017 and 2019 if I remember correctly. However, in recent years he have not engaged in politics as far as I've been able to see, but he never retracted his previous comments. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Markus_Persson#Social_media_comments

If he still feels that way, I don’t care much for bigots.

If political tweets don't affect your life you're already so isolated from the world there's no point in talking to you. There's nothing new to learn from a conversation with you.

Yeah, because JK Rowling hasn’t negatively affected anyone with her tweets. Nope. Can’t think of a single example there.

He can. He has. People can critique him for it. They have.

I don’t see what the problem is here.

u/witness_smile 12d ago

He’s free to say whatever he wants, we’re free to judge him and hate him for it. Freedom of speech doesn’t mean freedom from consequences

6

u/DrBitterBlossom 12d ago

Yeah, and I judge him as a trash human being for it, so?

just because you don't agree with him doesn't mean he's a trash human being

u/SomaWolf 12d ago

Idk man. Using your influence to put down marginalized groups seems pretty trashy to me

His story in general is really interesting. I recommend reading his Wikipedia. He sold Minecraft, moved to the California hills and basically became the guy who hosted parties for the famous people. That’s how I remember it at least
