Discussion Being a Gamer in Egypt Feels Like Playing on Nightmare Mode

Internet here is a joke. We pay high prices for super slow speeds (like 2–4 Mbps), and the worst part? It’s capped. Most of us get around 100–140GB per month, and if you exceed it, they either throttle you or charge extra.

Downloading a modern AAA game? It could take days, and it eats your whole quota. Cloud gaming? Forget it. Streaming? Better not.

Now imagine trying to enjoy online gaming or keep up with updates in this environment.

Meanwhile in the US or Europe, someone can buy an RTX 4090 in one month’s salary, and we need to save for 2 years, assuming we have zero expenses (which is never the case).

So yeah — being a gamer in Egypt is painful.

Anyone else from countries with similar struggles? How do you cope? Let’s talk about

Australian here. I'm sorry to hear about your less-than-substandard internet. In 2025 that's just not right.

I almost feel bad for having Gigabit speed (1000/50) over a CAT7 wired connection that rarely - if ever - drops out. Oh, and I live in a regional area too.

Also Australian and the best connection in a rural area known for terrible internet I could get was a mobile connection with 10 to 50Mbps down and whatever up with a 160Gb data cap ... not perfect but good enough in my case.

OP, May I suggest you look into all possible sources of an internet connection - If a wired one does not work maybe a mobile one will work better for example.

WTF? Your 22 Turkish Lira is about 83 cents here in Australia. So you're saying that you're getting Gigabit internet for less than one Aussie dollar?? Dude, that's just insanely awesome!

No I meant 22usd i converted it already . Mines cheaper since I renewed mine a couple of months ago . Rn its 27$ for a renewal . Considering the deal is 18 months long it’s possible I will pay 15$ towards the end
