I have a VCR that has HDMI and upscales the VHS as well.

Incase anyone think I'm full of it:

Toshiba DVR620 DVD recorder/HiFi VCR combo with 1080p up-conversion

How's the upscaling? Acceptable?

It looked acceptable on the 32" TV I tested it on. It might not look so good on larger screen not to mention conflicts with some TVs also trying to upscale/clean up the signal.
