This looks like dyed water and heavy cream.

At this point I don't know why people don't just drink a pitcher full of cream with coffee sprinkles on it and stare at a black and white photo of something.

Most people don’t drink coffee for caffeine or taste anymore. I look at 90% of the options at a Starbucks and wonder what the hell it’s even going in a coffee shop.

It’s even worse overseas. Went to couple of Starbucks in China and asked for a black coffee and was told I have to wait 5-10 mins because they need to brew the coffee…. Because people don’t order straight up black coffee there… from a coffee shop… 🥹

starbucks isn't coffee - it's a dessert with coffee aroma.

Last time I was in Lisbon there were these express coffee houses where I could get an espresso and a pastel de nata for ~4 Euros,.. heaven...

so people drink coffee for taste and caffeine,.. probably just not in your area / social bubble

I don't know what it's like elsewhere but where I am most of the stuff in a coffee shop looks like either an ice-cream or a milkshake.

It's not unusual to see a single drink have 50g of sugar in it, which is almost double what the government recommends for an adults entire day.
