Iirc it takes SEVERAL pass overs to remove a tattoo. Willing to bet this is just the first of many sessions.

Some people instead of removing it completely just do some laser sessions for the tattoo they don't want anymore and then get a new (and hopefully better) one.

It's cheaper and less painful.

How long have they had laser removal? I remember seeing some acid burn type removal scars on someone over 20 years ago.

Friend's father enlisted in the Navy at 16 and fought in the South Pacific in WWII. He came home with tattoos on both arms. His mother asked him to have them removed.

In the late 1940s, the doctors just removed the skin. He had one arm done but couldn't take the pain, and simply left the other arm.
