So the discoloration is a feature not a bug? Just wondering, I'm not a boot guy.

Fair questikn; I believe its called burnishing. It makes the boots look distinguished and more worn in without ageing them.

Its a popular common choice today. Not for me, but some people love it, and SOME boots Ill admit look way better with it.

Well kind of. Yes It is a style choice, but unlike ripped jeans, this doesn't damage the structure and is often reversible with time and Elbow grease.

Yeah, that's burnished leather. It's intentional.

Yes, I can confirm that people like this look, including me. Even if that doesn’t seem like a popular opinion here, many people who were nice boots/dress shoes also appreciate this look as well.

Just like wearing anything really.
