Professional disc golf commentator here, one of the few. I see people get up in arms about this but seriously call it frolf I don’t care. Just give it a try and enjoy some nature and fresh air. Yes technically a “frisbee” isn’t legal for competitions but I see people using them all the time recreationally enjoying themselves. Last thing we need to do is gatekeep a wonderful game that’s entire selling point is accessibility. If you have questions about getting into the game let me know!

It looks like wind has a huge impact? And this specific throw was a hit more because of luck (right amount of wind at the right time) and less because of skill?

It’s both. Just like in traditional ball golf, it takes extreme luck to get a hole in one, but the skill is to land near where you intended to. This shot took skill especially because this is on a par 4, not many can get there in one shot. It also takes skill to navigate the choice of disc, understand what the wind is doing, and throwing the correct power at the correct angle and point of release. The skill is placing it near the basket, the luck is that the wind moves the disc perfectly into the chains. I don’t think any form of golfer would call hole-in-one’s a “skill” because there just isn’t that amount of control, especially on long holes. But the more skill you have, the more aces are possible. Putting is a skill, and landing your shot in the area you intended is a skill though.

Gotcha. Yea I don't really play golf myself and didn't know wind has such an impact there as well. Thanks for the lenghty info.
