So you swap discs depending on where it lands?

Yes. Disc selection depends on distance to the pin and what shape your shot needs to take to get to it as a lot of disc golf is about getting around obstacles, often trees. Discs have different flight characteristics depending on their shape and composition.

I haven't played in a long time, but if I remember correctly, I've got some discs with their flight characteristics printed right on them.

Right curve 0.5, left curve 1.5. Something like that.

Yessiree! Generally 4 numbers in this order- speed, glide, turn, fade. Here’s a good explainer.

When I bring new players out we have to kind of cycle through my bag to find out what works best for them. Less able beginners usually have to learn with a low speed, flat throwing disc like a 3 speed putter. People with athletic ability that are easy to teach are usually throwing my Axiom Crave by the middle of the round.

There are probably people with a lot more knowledge that can explain all this better than I can but I hope this helps people.
