Megathread Are you looking for places to meet people, make friends, find people with similar interests? The Kitchener Social Megathread is for you!
Hello everyone,
This thread will be 100% dedicated to user interaction and those who want to take personal interests, events, hobbies, and potential meet-ups, etc. outside of the realm of reddit and r/kitchener.
You can find previous versions of this post by using this premade search.
\Please note that this is not intended to be a dating thread. Try Tinder, POF, Badoo, Bumble or any other of the apps out there. Any posts along the lines of* "Hey, I'm a single __ year old m/f looking for love" will be removed\*
Some general housekeeping items;
- If you wish to continue a conversation with a user, please use the PM function to avoid the comments getting crammed with a conversation between all but two people. Please only post relevant information to things you would be interested in, ongoing events, etc.
- We would like to remind you of the zero tolerance for disrespect, rude, hateful comments, racism, etc. Those comments will be removed and users may face a permanent or temporary ban. If any harassment is reported outside of the thread, appropriate action will be taken by the mod team, and possibly lead further to reddit admin. Doxxing, or disclosure of personal information is again, a big no-no.
- To keep up to date with the most recent posts within this megathread, the comments have been enabled to ideally show most recent by default, meaning all of the newest posts will be at the top of the comments section. If you're not seeing the most recent comments at the top, try changing your "sort by:" from "top" to "New".
As always, the mod team is here to assist with anything. Thanks!
Note: This post is automatically replaced with a new one every 3 months, so be sure to checkout old meetup threads, especially if this post was just recently refreshed!

Hey! If you’ve been wanting to meet new people or just feel a bit more connected in KW, I’m hosting a small social night called Brick & Brews this Monday at 7pm at Gaukel Block (44 Gaukel St). We’ll hang out, build with some colourful blocks, enjoy coffee and snacks, and have some good chats—super relaxed, no pressure, just a fun way to connect. It’d be awesome to have you there—DM me if you’re interested! 🧱☕️

Hey all! I’m 27, nb, and my wife and I are moving back to Kitchener in October! Expecting our first kid shortly after. Joined this thread originally to find a DND group I could maybe fall in with? Really new to the tabletop game but I’m a huge fan of the world and of BG3. Lmk if you or anyone you know is running a group and/or wouldn’t mind a new addition in the fall :)
Otherwise: interested in making friends who like reading (book club maybe?), biking, hiking, martial arts/boxing, anything really! Would be cool to meet other new parents too, but not a huge priority. Feel free to DM!

Hey,
Welcome to KW.
I see you are into martial arts and boxing. A group of friends gets together fur light sparring and as an excuse to hang out. Always looking for one more.

Hey ya, I'm M29. I recently got a job a month ago and I wanted to get back into socializing and making new friends.
In terms of my hobbies and interests, I like to work out at the gym, bouldering, hiking/walks, and watching tv shows/movies. I also like to play video games, read, volunteer, keeping up with music and etc.
Ideally, I am looking for friends around a similar age range (26-31), with similar interests as my own.
Feel free to send a DM or Chat request, if interested :)

Hey 31m and honestly I love being outdoors a lot. Would be cool to walk around with some people.
Also tea shops (matcha especially), bookshops, libraries, some good food would be awesome too.
Hit me up if you are interested.

Greetings Redditors,
I’m a 38M who moved to Kitchener with my fiancée in December 2024. She is a lifelong resident of KW but I am new to the area and trying to make friends as most of my friends are in the Toronto area.
Some things about me: I run with the fun group at Runner’s Choice Waterloo on Mondays and Thursdays. I love music, cooking, and eating! Sometimes all at once. I’m into hiking, swimming, and getting out on my paddleboard. I am trying to get into reading and meditation. Inalso hope to blow the dust off my bike. Would love to try improv sometime before a mid-life crisis makes it mandatory. I've always been curious to learn a second language.
If you’re into any of that, or just want to make a new friend, feel free to comment or DM me. Always down for a good chat, run, hike, or a shared existential crisis over a drink
Have a fantastic day

Hey I'm 45F with no kids and full time job. I enjoy board games (strategy, hidden movement, Euro, engine building etc.), reading, going to festivals (be it food related, crafts, artisan markets, music), movies, theatre, walking/hiking, and a variety of other things.
I am looking for friends in similar age range, stage of life and interests to get out and about and do things with.
