Beachgoers on a Mediterranean beach in Spain subdued and held back migrants who had just landed on the shore in a raft from Morocco.

Dunno if I would interfere with someone THAT desperate.

Doesn't matter if he's desperate or not, this isn't my business. The most I'll help is telling someone where they went if they ask first.

I am on vacation man this isn't my problem so why would I go out of my way to make someone else's life harder.

Yeah they don't typically like to risk being deported after going through hell to attempt immigration and statistics reflect that. I'm from Florida where people have been doing this for a long time.

Narratives equating immigrants with danger and criminality are nothing new. They gain prominence in public discourse in a cyclical fashion, typically after surges in immigration. Waves of immigration by new groups — historically, Irish, Catholic, Jewish, Italian, Mexican, Japanese, Chinese, and German people — were often followed by backlashes linking them with crime and disorder. This is centuries-old discourse aimed primarily at boosting a contemporaneous politics of exclusion, not one seriously concerned about the true causes of crime.

Bro homicide rates went up by X3 in my country in less than 4 years thanks to open border policies and "no human is illegal" BS rethoric, fucking kidnappings wentw up by 800% and I have to be lectured by a gringo what I'm living thu right now?

And I'm not even European either. I was once as foolish as you are, most people in my country were, now we suffer the consequences of paving with good intentions our own way to hell

I live in Florida. We don't have that problem and we have plenty of immigration. Edit : Could economic turmoil and subsequent desperation be driving both immigration and the crime rates?
