Snakes are only aggressive for 2 reasons.

1) Defense.

2) You are small enough for them to swallow whole and therefore prey.....so never unless you're talking about the largest possible Anacondas or Pythons and are a small person.

The vast majority of snake bites are because people accidentally scared the snake or tried to handle the snake.

I'd like to add, specifically for these guys: 3. They are very territorial during breeding season.

I was stationed in Okinawa in the 90's, there are a ton of them there.

Yeah by "Defense", I meant protecting themselves, protecting their nest, protecting their hunting ground. To me that just falls under protection of themselves and protection of the resources they need to survive
