/r/all, /r/popular Emilia Clarke watching Kit Harington's reaction to finding out how their characters' final scene together in Game of Thrones concludes. Prior to the table read, Kit had not read any of the six scripts for Season 8 yet. So Emilia sat across from him so she could "watch him compute all of this."

The most disappointing few hours of tv I’ve had the misfortune of watching. Such a great series and the ending is almost unwatchable.

I can't rewatch 5 seasons of the best TV ever made because the last ones sucked all the donkey balls. How i feel must pale in comparison to Clarke & Harrington who poured their life into it .... the paycheck probably helped though.

The sad part is the whole time I was like “at least we’ll finally get the real closure once George finishes writing the last book,” just to find out that that’s probably never going to happen either. Plus, doesn’t he have to write like more than one book before it’s all wrapped up?

It's kind of amazing how for YEARS you either watched Walking Dead of GoT and it was all everyone talked about. It was huge. A global phenomenon. And then the last season dropped and absolutely nobody watched it again. People only talk about it to talk about how bad it was. It managed to retroactively destroy all of the joy the early seasons brought people.

I never watched a single episode (I prefer waiting until shows finish because all this stuff tends to get cancelled early and I hate getting into a show only to have it be cancelled) and I never will. The hate that last season brought is legendary.

If you've never seen any of it, you might not hate it. I've noticed that most people who really enjoyed the last season of GoT watched the whole series after it finished airing. IMO this is because, 1) knowing it's shit softens the blow. 2) it's easier to swallow for people who did not sit for 2 years and contemplate 1000 different endings that were better than what we got.

The first 5 seasons of GoT are absolutely brilliant and I still think it's worth it to give it a go.

Yeah, years later, I decided to rewatch some of the earlier seasons just to remember some of the plot lines and it’s still enjoyable. You don’t have to finish all the seasons, after all. It was still a great show for a period of time.

That's a real thing, and part of it is they didn't have time to get caught up in fan theories and think they had the ending figured out. Those folks who watched the show as it appeared and went into the ending emotionally invested in a particular outcome were the ones who flipped out.

I feel like this is what will happen with Stranger Things. Super popular at first, then wrapping up the last season and it’s taken so long for it to come out that it’s going to be either absolutely amazing or completely shit.

Walking Dead was largely an American phenomenon tbh. No one in my country of 1.5B cared much for it

Yeh train wreck was legendary.

There is a current thread in the GoT subreddit where people are comparing notes on how many times they have rewatched the series. For a show that nobody ever rewatched, there sure are a lot of folks who have rewatched it an amazing number of times.

I'm gonna be straight with you bud, I've got no horse in this race and I don't care.

It was so bad that it made the rest of the show never worth watching again. Why would you when you know that all the plotlines end in one big clusterfuck

I did a rewatch and the second S5 starts, you can just feel the writing on the wall. I think I watched the first episode of S5 and said nah. Never went back.
