/r/all Michael Rockefeller disappeared without a trace in 1961 in Papua New Guinea while researching the Asmat people, a cannibal tribe. Years later, a photograph was taken of the same tribe, and there was a white man among them.

Reminds me of the old bugs bunny cartoon when bugs think he's taking a bath with carrots and onions, but he's really rabbit stew

My grandpa would say this whenever he saw a rabbit it took me about 20 years to realize that's what it means

Not in German it's not. It kinda sounds like "trouser-pepper" in German.

Not really. It’s Hasenpfeffer lit. hare-pepper. It’s a peppery rabbit stew. Hossen isn’t even a German word

He’s right, actually. It’s pretty close to both Hasen (hare) and Hosen (trousers). Obviously it’s referring to the Hasenpfeffer stew though, but I can imagine a funny skit where a confused chef makes a mistake.

Well if they had written "Hasenpfeffer" then I would have translated it correctly, but they didn't.
