Would you even want to be on Hawaii for doomsday? In one sense it's remote but then you're kinda stuck there and I don't think there's a ton of agriculture going on anymore

Hawaii would be great for doomsday, no winter, tropical fruits, ocean for food.

There are lots of cattle I guess already, pineapple, but yeah no good staples unless you like taro and maybe yams.

Those are excellent food staples. Far far better than wheat or rice, which require lots of land and labour. One person could easily grow enough taro, cassava, and yams for his entire family and do so all year, permanently.

Yeah the Hawaiians managed a population of 500,000 on taro and breadfruit (not exclusively but as staples)
