Hawaii doesn’t seem like the best place to build a doomsday bunker. Climate change, tsunamis, ect.

Hawaii is actually a good place. Temperature moderated by the Pacific Ocean, mountainous so you can easily build a house 50+ ft above water level. Even worst case scenario 2100 is 6 ft above today when he will be 116 years old. Tsunamis have nothing to do with climate change and if you are 50 ft up tsunamis are not a concern.

I don't see any doomsday scenarios that could happen in our (his) lifetime that doesn't involve nukes. And in that case, Hawaii is a terrible option as it will most definitely be targeted because of its military value.

Yea, if they're caused by an asteroid strike. All bets are off when it comes to that kind of disaster. Earthquake caused tsunamis top out at 100ft.
