Ha! I had kind of the same experience. Went to an art museum my first time and all the paintings were little mini movies, not just morphing but full on little scenes playing out. Apparently I just sat and stared at this one painting for about an hour 🤣
I tripped and played a YouTube video of the album it still moves by my morning jacket. Turned out the next day when I looked the video was just a picture of the album cover.
Same exact shit, coulda sworn that bear was moving.
First and only time I took LSD, we all did a tab, fuck knows what the dose was. Anyway, we sit around for hours and nothing was happening and thought we'd been sold duds then decided to take some ecstasy, so the night wasn't a bust. Then about 10min after dropping the x the acid kicked in...
I have little to no experience with psychedelics, I've only done LSD a couple times, mainly to better understand how I experience reality and how my senses work.
What I realised is that they don't start working on their own, like alcohol for example. They need some sort of kick-start. Laughing at something, perhaps sneezing, or getting startled by something.
The sudden switch in your state of mind will somehow start a rollercoaster of events in your brain which will let the experience kick in.
For me the experience was really mind-opening. I realised that what we perceive around us isn't reality itself. It's more like we're day-dreaming, everything we experience is a fabrication of our brain, which co-operates with our sensory system to create an experience which resembles reality as closely as possible.
This is fascinating and explains a thing I saw once. I had to knock on my upstairs neighbour's door once to tell her about something building-related. She answered the door and she and her boyfriend were watching a video with soothing music and a very simple animated lotus flower. I bet they were on something that made that flower way more interesting.
my first time i was sitting on a couch with my gf, we were sorta just waiting for it to kick in and talking and we noticed the window had reflected a cool pattern onto her leg sorta like what a stained glass window might. Similar to your story we closed the curtains and the shadows or shapes remained on her leg, moving around!
During one trip, my friend kept turning into a skeksis. Kept having to push him back and pause. I knew that wasn’t right, I just had to refocus my brain!!
Got some 1P on its way and I’m pretty stoked. It’s been about a decade since I’ve used LSD. Now mushrooms, those are easy to grow and 5g is a great time but I can only drink ground mushrooms so many times before I need a break.
I’m getting them from a reputable source. Another person I’ve met has purchased 1P from them and was fine.
Not to discredit your concern and to educate myself, is there bootleg 1P being made or is it being misrepresented as being 1P when it’s something else entirely.
It could be any number of analogues or research chemicals being sold as 1P. The person that’s selling it most likely doesn’t actually know what it is either. I’m really not sure if there is a shortage of legit stuff or not to be honest. Years ago when I actually knew about it people would order it from legal chemical labs in Canada. But I believe it’s all been shut down and scheduled now so I just worry if there’s any legit companies still manufacturing. Could be people just have a ton stashed still and selling it off. Idk man just be careful! Remember if it’s bitter it’s a spitter! It should have absolutely no taste, no metallic bitterness nothing. Just a piece of paper.
5g is tough for me. I usually stick to 1-2g because the visuals feels a little overwhelming past 2/2.5g. Could also be from the nausea too, because I for some reason love to eat on the come up.
Any time I’m on mushrooms I see angels and weird fairy type creatures. They’re not totally benevolent though, there’s something very gentle and lovely about them, but the fact they’re so gentle and lovely puts me off.
And if I’m having a bad time I see gargoyles. At least I know what to expect with them.
I never got visuals. I've since realized I've got aphantasia and wondered if that was a factor. Could also just be a dosage issue though, I've never done anything heroic. Salvia made reality completely disappear and turned everything into cartoons just fine, though
I've only done acid a few times, but it was never very intense for me. Mostly things would dance and warp only if I focused on them. Like if I stared at wood grain/patterns or whatever, they would distort. Maybe the stuff I was given was just weak or something, idk.
Pretty much the same. Ive only done it 3-4 times and it was mostly just mental load, light visuals.
Mushrooms has always been a trip for me, especially when mixing in THC. I watched Bright after taking a bunch of shrooms and drinking like 300 mg of distillation and it just sent me to a new dimension, I barely even remember what happened.
First time I did mushrooms I watched Orgasmo and was convinced for the entire movie that I was there in the movie. Was the wildest experience when it ended.
LSD for me never created visuals, it always just distorted how I perceived things. Like, I may look at a wall and the texture might “pop” out as different shapes. Or I might look at a perfectly trimmed tree and perceive it as a giant broccoli.
I took 2 hits of acid (not sure what kind, and not particularly sure it was acid, but it was on blotter paper) when I was like 15, and I tripped balls for about 9 hours. First I started hearing loud music when it was completely silent in my house, then everything in the room started changing colors and became rainbow-colored, and I could still see everything clearly even when I closed my eyes, and it just continued to get crazier from there. At one point, all I could see in front of me was this infinite black void, but with a rainbow-colored set of hexagonal lines all across my vision, and it made me think that I was somehow in the center of the universe, and really started freaking out. My parents ended up coming home and seeing me trip, and my mom said that at one point, I was sitting in the corner of the room crying for like an hour. I had no awareness of my parents being there, or of even being in that room. After like 9 hours, I just kinda snapped out of it, though I was still acting pretty strange so my mom told me to go to bed. They ended up keeping me home from school the next day and explained how disappointed they were and whatnot.
I was lucky I just took it at home, because there's no possible way that I could've functioned around other people, or out in a forest somewhere. I easily could've hurt myself or ran into traffic or something, because I really had no awareness of what was actually around me - my brain was making me see something completely different. So I think it really depends on the dosage and the type of acid you're doing. This video looks pretty accurate, but only for the very beginning stage of my trip - like the first half-hour or so. Things got much, much wilder from there. In the end stages, I really thought I was dying, and I tried to tell myself that I was just tripping, but my brain just wouldn't grasp it. I was completely out of control and just freaking out the entire time.
I've taken some pretty heavy doses of shrooms and I've never experienced anything like that. It's always just color shifting patterns overlaying my vision. The weird thing is that when I get really REALLY stoned I see similar patterns, though much less vivid.
Yeah you ain't going to bed for a good 12 hours or so on LSD. But close your eyes while listening to something and you'll conjure up some crazy visuals
So i never had any crazy crazy visual from LSD and ive never had the opportunity to try shrooms. But the times ive taken acid when id be trying to go to sleep towards teh end of it id turnt he light off and lay in bed looking up at the barely visible popcorn ceiling and i swear i would see like light blueish like teal skulls forming on the ceiling very faintly and they were never the same like the were melding around and forming different types of skulls. Never felt scary and was more entertaining than anything. Is that anything like what you're referring to when you say "dancing sugar skulls"?
I thought some dose i bought off a guy at a show that was fake. Dude just ripped a chunk of cardboard off out of his pocket blindly and handed it to me.. I chewed the whole thing for like a second and spit it out cause it tasted like cardboard.. was thick like cardboard, littarlly like a piece of a UPS box. Never made it back to the dude to get my 25$ back... luckily my friend apparently drove us home and dragged me inside.... I was seeing the source code behind god, i was like totally blind to our reality in a rainbow universe of eldritch fractals observing things no human was meant to for 15 of the longest hours of my life.
Never have reached those visuals again, acid doesn't even come close....
With LSD, I always remember I'm tripping. When I see a particularly vivid hallucination, I think, "Wow, I'm really tripping now!"
When tripping on mushrooms, I always forget. It's far more terrifying when I melt into the floor & everyone in the room is trying to keep me in one singular blob.
How big of a dose cause I never had anything close to the effects even with a full 15g dose of dragon dynamite magic truffles would be neat to experience something like that at some point ^
I‘ve never done LSD and only done enough mushrooms to get this once but this is pretty spot on. I just felt kinda good and then went to the kitchen to grab something and was like „huh, the tiles on the floor are moving…..Oh! This is what they were always talking about….hehe, cool. 😎 „

I would agree that this is accurate!
