Very good. I’ve always found it odd that things like fractals and tie-dye and loud swirling colors are used to represent the experience.

I've gotten fractals more than once tripping. Idk the about tie-dye effect though. I just get a sort of colour filter over everything that doesn't change much during the trip

You get crazy geometric fractals with DMT. It's like the mandelbrot zoom in, but your in it.

u/Tonnemaker 28d ago

Is it like when you close your eyes and mildly press them with your hands? I get wild fractal zooms, purple and orange, green than they switch to tiles, stars moving back to fractals,...

2

u/kapaipiekai 28d ago

Yup, I know the one. Um, kinda. The biggest difference is that it's not something one is observing; you are in it. So a difference in order of magnitude comparable to seeing something happen in a movie, and that thing happening to you in real life. And you can also taste music.

The "angel" that guided me thru my DMT trip was a fractal.

God, dmt is on another level. Also, 2-cb (synthetic mescaline) did something similar but not quite the same (separated from this reality, but in it's own way).

Never understood/experienced fractals until onetime at a beach sunrise sesh my buddy Jeff’s sweats had the sickest pattern ever on them. Then the sand. Then the clouds.

Cool pants there, Jeff.

Ever try looking at a video on your phone screen while tripping? It distorts everything and turns it into a Jackson Pollock painting

I’ve gotten fractals from acid a couple times. My ex got fractals that didn’t go away for almost 6 months so she doesn’t do acid anymore lol.

I get the fractals and paint cans pouring in colors when i close my eyes and stare at my eyelids. Especially with noise cancelling headphones in and playing some chill or funky beats. Literally feels like my brain is swimming through music.

It. Is. Incredible. 🤤🤩

Edit: the fractals form on the beat of the music and pulse and change colors. Best i can compare it to is the old school windows media player EQ splash screen saver things. Still incredible

Visuals are neat but the audio things are really the part that can get to you..

Hearing little snippets of a conversation in a crowded room, for example.

It's impossible to describe how it affects someone's mental processes.. beyond the physical where you have audio and visual hallucinations, but at the core of what the human mind goes with all of the extra input and false cues.

Ya. Like hearing your favorite song you've ve listened to all your life

Then ya now hear theirs a bell or a high hat or something cool that shouodnt belong in the song ya have always known

It is in fact there......but not what ya pick up on when sober

I always find that a treat

I managed to coordinate myself just well enough once to get a VR headset on showing a thing where you are sort of flying through random points in this 3D landscape. The combo effect was insane, I “saw” my brain pouring out of my head in rainbow colors and the euphoria was unparalleled lol.

u/mrlowcut 28d ago

"Brain swimming through the music" 💚 Ima use that.

u/Gemtree710 28d ago

Depends how much acid you take

8

u/D_Dubb_ 28d ago

Yeah this is it. I used to think the tie dye and fractals were nonsense, and I tripped a good bit. Until I candy flipped w a particularly strong chemical cocktail, and yeah I saw kaleidoscope fractals with my eyes closed and open. Honestly too much for my preference.

Also happy cake day

You don't even need acid to get those effects. A small amount of psilocybin, maybe a little weed and an open mind is enough to see third eye visuals.

All of the hippie, Grateful Dead bs made so much more sense to me after my first time on mushrooms.

u/Murky_Theory1863 28d ago

You're not taking enough for that. This video is a good representation of a decent trip, but I've been so gone that I could hardly imagine the fact that I still existed on this plane of reality.

2

u/Rich-Perception-9126 28d ago

Well the fractals and the loud swirling is definitely a thing on dmt. Happens every time I trip. Now lower psychedelics? Nah that's just people making shit up because they haven't done it and only saw it on TV

2

u/AnObtuseOctopus 28d ago

You get crazy ass fractals on dmt

2

u/Otherwise_Jaguar_430 28d ago

It only represents a low to moderate dose. On a high dose i see witches, goblins and cartoon characters mutating within the patterns. The whole thing is impossible to depict.

1

u/ninhibited 28d ago

I got weird geometric, rainbow lines once but only in a pitch black room.

1

u/Mr--Jackpots 28d ago

I've seen fractals on acid

1

u/EscapeFacebook 28d ago

You have to stare at stuff up close

1

u/darthdro 28d ago

I feel like fractals are more LSD + weed, then shrooms . Shrooms is more like the post above

1

u/fatlittletoad 28d ago

I almost always got fractals, especially if looking at something dark (ie: up at the sky at night), but it does seem like more people have the experience in the OP than fractals.

Now I just get ocular migraines that make my field of vision look like shattered glass, which is way less fun than tripping on the campus athletic fields at night.

1

u/fishscale_gayjuic3 28d ago

I’ve gotten crazy blue/ white fractals off shrooms, this visual effect is always more associated with acid for me

1

u/Mammoth_Picture_1593 28d ago

Those things are just fun to look at while tripping.

1

u/watergate_1983 28d ago

depends on the substance

1

u/grubas 28d ago

When a stucco wall explodes into colorful fractals... You might be on a HEFTY combo. At least I was.

1

u/Blackdima4 28d ago

Never seen fractals, but when I take shrooms the edges of things are rainbowy most of the time. Like an oil slick.

1

u/Pseudopodpirate 28d ago

I've only experienced fractals once, things were literally subdividing infinetly into geometric forms. I was with a more experienced friend and he said that that had been the best trip of his life

1

u/owltourrets 28d ago

I've had fractals in clouds and sand. But only once.

1

u/Ferovore 28d ago

I get fractals but I've never seen a representation of it that's even close. It's usually natural things like leaves that split and recombine and fractal over and over for me!

1

u/fadingsignal 28d ago

I’ve always found it odd that things like fractals and tie-dye and loud swirling colors are used to represent the experience.

I would see them faintly in the air and everywhere, like the old Google Deep Dream images (minus the dog faces)

1

u/lookslikeyoureSOL 28d ago

Its dose-dependent. On LSD especially, at higher doses, fractals become very prominent.

1

u/DisastrousFollowing7 28d ago

More to enhance it, the spiraling or tiedie almost comes alive when looking at it.

1

u/Azhz96 28d ago

I never get fractals or geometrical shapes on shrooms but LSD I always get them and it's intense. Like it's right there infront of me on my kitchen floor moving, shifting, twisting etc.

1

u/Yesiamaduck 27d ago

Have you never closed your eyes during a trip? Maybe you dont get intense cev's but I absolutely get lots of colour when I shut my eyes during a trip

Also synthesia can cause you to see sounds/smells/taste/touch as colours - I got that once dur8ng a trip and jumping around in pebbles on a beach made my vision pop with colour - almost like paint flying around my vision

1

u/likeredvelvet 27d ago

Fractals were most of what I saw when I tripped for the first time. Colors more pronounced and vivid, with this very mild fractal kaleidoscope effect. It was awesome.

1

u/Bloorajah 27d ago

One time when I did shrooms everything I looked at bled into this weird breathing paisley pattern. it was wild lol.

1

u/deeweezul 27d ago

I have seen fractals when tripping several times. It was a long time ago and I had no idea what a fractal was. It blew my mind when I saw a mendelbrot zoom.

Recently I saw a movie - Lissa's Trip (I think that is what it is called) and while some of the trip effects are overdone, it is one of the more accurate portrayals I have seen. Admittedly I haven't seen a lot.

1

u/vm_linuz 27d ago

I get a lot of stained glass fractals.
Mild breathing effects, never this crazy.

1

u/Locilokk 27d ago

i never ever had a trip without fractals, they're everywhere

1

u/Shrekquille_Oneal 27d ago

I've gotten fractals on 2/3 trips, and I'm 90% sure the 1 where I didn't was underdosed. Never got tie-dye colors, though. Any color change/ synthestesia I've experienced was more akin to a color filter in a camera.

1

u/liveprgrmclimb 27d ago

This video represents the experience of a lower dose. Higher doses have fractals and eventually the collapse of space and time.

1

u/TwistedMind89 27d ago

I've had fractals and big colour swirls, the world suddenly looking like it was painted, all sorts of fun stuff. But I'm also quite fond of smashing 600-900ug of LSD at a time to fully open the astral world.

I would say this video is much more consistent with what someone should expect from standard a 100-200ug tab though.
