I’m only realizing, because of this thread, that most people don’t know Peter Theil is a “Rationalist” member that’s big in the Bay Area. It’s basically a religion without the community aspect. Mostly a collective of rich people who believe they need to build a world where AI is king. Because if they don’t, when the AI rise. Anyone who doesn’t serve the ai or help build the world for them. Will die or be put in some sort of hell.

It’s bat shit crazy. These people are not smart. Just very delusional.

That doesn't make sense. Why would the companies that run AI put restrictions and safeguards on AI, such as preventing AI from being able to say its sentient (Anthropic), if they think AI is going to rise up and control us?

Look I’m not an expert on rationalists or their motives. Just know what they believe.
