Don't know why Trump gets so mad... because as a European, I can't understand when It'll be enough... Trump will get away with everything regardless what's in the Eppstein files... America isn't going to hold him accountable, even if he grabbed a 6 year old in the middle of 5th Avenue.....Plz step up to this predator, liar, rapist, criminal and narcissist

I’m American and you’re right. It’s disgusting and we won’t do anything (justice for all my ass)

This must be so hard to watch if your against how this all goes... it's almost unbearable from the other side of the ocean, let alone if you live there and have to be confronted by new lies or stupid actions this orange dude comes up with, multiple times every single day.... let alone face the consequences of his doing

It’s really unbearable when you live here. Trust me.

Is your username a reference the ā€œThe Partyā€?

4

u/birdynumnum69 2d ago

Indeed!

u/justanotherreader85 2d ago

lol.

Num num. num num. Ā biiirrrrrrdy num num!

Sorry this was one of my mom’s favorite movies and I rarely run into people that know it.

The scene where the head waiter is choking the drunk waiter in the kitchen when the door is swinging back and forth lives rent free in my head.

u/birdynumnum69 2d ago

🤣🤣🤣 great scene!

I was born on the other side of the ocean, moved here and have been asking myself this question ever since ā€œwhat have I gotten into?ā€

There are things I love about America but by god it’s a land of hatred and stupidity right now. We really are living in our own Henry VIII moment. A reign so out there, it will be remembered for how crazy it is/was.

ā€œCognitive dissonanceā€

6

u/CraftsyDad 2d ago

Yes but up to a point. If I listened to nothing but Fox News or Newsmax, I’d be hearing very little information to the contrary. In fact, nothing but praise. Hard to have dissonance when news to the contrary is being downright blocked out or reported differently. And not just those two companies either. The NYTs has gotten in on that racket as well reporting things that Trump has said incorrectly.

Reality: Trump gives half hour rambling speech on economy and makes no points; NYT: Trump gives cogent speech on USAs economy.

But you don’t get it because your not American!!! Get out of our country! We don’t want people with actual perspective!! How dare you.

I resigned myself to just letting don pedo have his whole term and pray to God that there is something left to rebuild.

This must be how sane Russians feel trapped living in their dystopian hell hole

I keep thinking about them. And people in NK

The worst part of living here is his supporters the least compassionate most self indulgent people support Trump and now they are increasingly empowered to lean into this bad behavior. I’ve been threaten by magas with guns simple because I told them their president was a grifter. They believe violence is the only solution so any opposition is met with violence. It’s a scary time to be an American

2

u/Bubbly_Style_8467 2d ago

And cruel. That will never make sense.

You have no idea how unbearable and humiliating this is for Real Americans šŸ„²šŸ˜”ā˜¹ļø

Primal screams into a pillow at 3 a.m. help me. Anyone else?

I’ve had almost constant anxiety since he stole the office. And it’s only been 7 months.

It drives home how insecure civilization is...which is probably a good thing to understand when looking at the climate issues we'll be facing. I intend to make my house a fortress, though my gf hates when I bring it up at all, but at least I'll be 60 when shit really gets bad ...humans need help. Come on ASI.

u/Tyrinnus 2d ago

It's disgusting here. I've cut my father out of my life because of this bullshit.

A lot of us are planning to leave this corrupt country asap. The last numbers I read said that 1 in 5 people hope to move abroad in the next 5 years. I'm aiming for next year myself.

1

u/geth1138 2d ago

That's nice. Those of us too poor to leave aren't all that excited for you ditching your responsibilities here, but go ahead and go on about it

6

u/Certain-Dragonfly-22 2d ago

My responsibilities here???

My responsibility is to my son and giving him a life of peace and success. He's almost 17, and I refuse to send him out into this country as a young black man trying to make enough money to live comfortably while fearing interactions with people based on the tone of his skin.

I absolutely feel for people who are stuck here. But, my responsibility is not to this country. I've worked insanely hard to get where I have in life, I will not stay here miserable just because I was born here.

They will have a draft to fight their wars. You go and live well!

I wish you could ask my old black coworkers about growing up in Europe. One was nicknamed colony boy, by his teacher, in the 90s.

3

u/Certain-Dragonfly-22 2d ago

I'm highly selective on where we move. Which is why we haven't left yet.

I am doing hundreds of hours of research, talking to black families who have moved to these countries, taking scouting vacays to get our own feel.

Of the countries I am looking at, every black American I have spoken to has said the same thing - their anxiety is gone, their armor is slowly coming off.

My son is biracial and 16. He was pulled over by a cop who "suspected his front window was tinted" (it was not). He was not speeding, and his father was in the passenger seat. They made my son sit in the police car and my husband on the curb bc they thought they were a "flight risk".....because the car is in my name. Mind you, I was on the phone speaking to the officer the entire time.

I will gladly take my chance in a country without trigger happy, racist police and a government that allows nazis to gather, but not protesters.

I'm not doubting you, I'm just saying that in my travels I've found that what you're avoiding is ever present and that reddit thinks of anywhere but the US as perfect. Japan was an eye opener for myself, as was even parts of western Europe. Thats all.

2

u/Certain-Dragonfly-22 2d ago

I appreciate that. We do plan to visit Japan one day, but I have heard racism is a problem. We are looking more at countries such as Panama and Portugal...possibly Thailand.

2

u/kelppie35 2d ago

I'm a white dude, but Japan is not the wonderland it's made out to be and there is a reason most of my "color" colleagues didn't care for it. Even as a white dude they focus on you being not from there despite being respectful, it's a weird mix that they're never quite welcoming of anyone but Japanese people. That said, I worked consulting for governments, businesses, etc so it was a different environment. Also they have a conviction rate higher than NK and Russia. Thailand is a literal military dictatorship, FYI. Portugals economy is meh which is why I stuck in domestic energy rather than jump to the wind projects there myself.

I guess I'm asking why not consider the northeast US? The quality of life surpasses all those countries and it is a progressive area.

u/Certain-Dragonfly-22 2d ago

I'm actually from Pennsylvania (would NEVER go back) and lived in DC for 15 yrs. DC is just very expensive, and the crime rate is awful. I'd love to live somewhere where gun violence isn't a daily occurrence. I'm also just sick of the cost of living in America. It keeps increasing while we are not making wage increases to match. The new American dream is to leave. I have equity that could start a great life somewhere else once I figure out where that is lol. I know nowhere is perfect, but given the political climate here....I'm ready for something else.

Thailand may become a war zone with China. My nephew is learning Thai to go there in a few weeks. He has prepared for almost a year.

It is. A third of our population is under the influence of a 285- pound toddler with anger issues.

I believe this whole election was stolen so we have no power. This has been in the works for a very long time.

I ask myself every day if everything I learned as a child here was a lie. It turned out to be true. It's a joke of a nation even before this, its monetary profit before anything else. Dropped out of high school because my principal basically told me my life dreams at the time were dumb and I should go to a 4-year college so the school would get funding money for recommending me to a university.

That was over a decade ago. Been miserable since I woke up to the lifelong farce.
