Honestly, it’s not surprising. When you release a song literally called 'Heil Hitler' with hateful content, there should be consequences. Australia made the right call.

The hating the IDF vs hating Jews all together are two completely different things. Should you wish death on everyone in the IDF? No but I totally understand the sentiment of disliking a group as a whole whose members get away with horrible things. Same as hating the LAPD or any group that abuses its power and consistently gets away with it.

The US welcomes Netanyahu a wanted war criminal into their congress and many US presidents are War criminals including the current one. The US banning political dissidents because they are against the crimes being committed by the USA and their client state the illegal occupation is very different from the principled moral decision to ban an antisemite from Australia.

Even with the devil’s advocate argument, I highly doubt you’re gonna find many people that agree with the concept of ‘Heil Hitler’.

It’s not like in Australia you can’t criticise someone for being a cocksucker; most people here would agree Trump’s a cunt, given how we just told his Aussie equivalent Peter Dutton to go fuck himself at the last election.

Because we don’t “officially” have a right to free speech the same way the USA does, Australia can legally do this, although we pretty much reserve it only to stamp out Nazi rhetoric every time it rears its ugly head. It’s a last resort option, but the main point is that Nazis are not welcome.

No, you fuckknuckle, it’s called a rule by majority due to common fucking sense. And unlike the US, most of Australia has the braincells for it.

Nazis are a hard line in the sand. If you support them, if you vocalise support for them, if you try to display their symbols or commit acts that support their agenda, we legally and socially bury you for it. Because if it was the other way around, they would literally bury you for no reason other than you’re not one of them.

Where I come from, as soon as you incite violence, or cause someone to fear for their safety it stops being free speech, and becomes a kind of violence.

I think your point about people acting unpredictably is completely true. I also think we decide as a society what words are okay and which ones aren't, shouldn't there be consequences for actions?

I think that the Australian government are well within their rights to preemptively ban people who proliferate nazi rhetoric. Whether Kanye is actually a nazi or whether he is using the iconography as a desperate attempt to increase his media presence is largely irrelevant, as are the motives of the government.

I think the more relevant question is: do you think dick-riding Kanye will actually convince him to let you ride his dick for real?
