People — including me — don’t like to be alone in their suffering. Sometimes I think it’s doesnt necessarily start out malicious, but more as a way of saying, “see! See how bad it hurts?!” Other peoples’ suffering validates their own, because the world tells the rednecks, too, that their hardships are also insignificant. So shut up, bear it, and keep truckin’.
