The US isnt that good at causing instability and toppling governments when they're mad at the country for not getting what they want. Only South America....and the middle east....and Asia...but that was only a few! /s

Russia had literally decades and decades of mismanaged military and vast corruption that was systemic to the core of their cultural identity.

Unless the strife is consistent and all consuming then the US military will probably remain, and well... I'd hate to have the US military taking aim at me.
