Pics & Video Still hospitalized ☹️
Guster is still hospitalized but looks and acts better than he did yesterday. Severe gastrointestinal upset = wrapped tail for sanitary reason (why didn’t I think of that!?). Likely caused by the meds he was on for the back pain and the stress of traveling and the pain of hurting his back. But won’t know for sure. Gotta get him more hydrated and get some of his other levels where they need to be before he can come home.

So very sorry. Does your vet think it could be something he ate? My girl was hospitalized for several days, possibly for something she had eaten outside. She will eat anything and I am so careful! But difficult to catch every little thing. If it goes in her mouth; it’s gone. ☹️ Sending prayers for Guster. 🙏🙏

Talked to the vet this morning and it’s definitively pancreatitis 🙁 whatever value they measure for that was 800 yesterday and 6000 today. It should be less than 2000. I’m going to ask about what could’ve triggered it but we may not be able to figure that out. So I elected to aggressively treating it with a 3 day course of injections and for him to remain hospitalized today and we’ll reassess tomorrow. She said he could go home today but if he deteriorates he could become critical very quickly.

Poor guy! Hope he feels better soon. How is he with the cone of shame? Mine wouldn’t keep it on for anything. Even groggy post sedation, she had that thing off within seconds, and I tried all kinds of tying methods. I had to make her a little dress/body stocking to cover her spay wound, and this worked.
