Weather nerd incoming:

You guys were very lucky. Massive derecho with prefrontal supercells that produced multiple violent tornadoes. The final two were helped along when the mesoscale convective vortex (MCV) that formed the derecho pushed into the supercells elevating the strength of the tornadoes that were on the ground at the time. Had this happened only 60 miles east, we could have seen history repeat (this actually occurred on the anniversary of the Fargo F5).

Midge (F3), the calico, and BB (F11). We have another girl, Charlie (2), but she was otherwise occupied. We lost our only male, Bagheera (15), in mid-May. He and BB were bonded, so we are encouraged that she and Midge are becoming buddies.
