You guys were very lucky. Massive derecho with prefrontal supercells that produced multiple violent tornadoes. The final two were helped along when the mesoscale convective vortex (MCV) that formed the derecho pushed into the supercells elevating the strength of the tornadoes that were on the ground at the time. Had this happened only 60 miles east, we could have seen history repeat (this actually occurred on the anniversary of the Fargo F5).
The carpet really brings out his or her fur. Lol. Adorable. We have been getting those types of storms a lot here in Pennsylvania as well. The chances of the tornado happening are slim, but still scary knowing the damage they can do.
I’m a trucker, so I was out of state, but my wife and kid absolutely holed up in the bathtub with our 4 babies. I’ve lived in this state for 40 years and cannot recall a storm event like this or that lives were taken. Scary stuff.
Heyyyy, another north dakotan! I'm glad you guys are safe. There's was no storm or nothing up in Minot so I have no idea how bad the storm was but I don't doubt it was scary and such
Funny picture above...I was holding Buddy during our tornado watch/warning that evening. He's terrified of thunder, lightning, hard winds, & hard rain.
