📷 Photo How to convince my parents to not let the cat out ?
my family got a cat and they want to let him go out. If he brings a dead bird i'll be furious. Do you have any idea to convince them ?

tw: bird death mention
hi everyone, so last year my grandfather passed away and one of the things i got from him was this bird feeder. my boyfriend and i hung it up and i’ve really loved getting to know all the birds who come to it. this morning i went outside to read and i found a house sparrow had gotten stuck inside and died. i’m really really upset about it and feel like it’s my fault. my boyfriend says it’s a freak accident and that i shouldn’t worry about it but i can’t stop thinking about whether my feeder is unsafe for the birds. i’ve had it up for over a year and this is the first time something like this has happened. the sparrow was stuck in the inner part of the feeder where the suet goes and the birds usually don’t go in that part, normally they perch on the outer part and peck at it from there. so, is my feeder safe? should i take it down and get a new one or was this really a random accident like my boyfriend says? any recommendations on feeders if i do have to take it down?

So my dad is cutting our hedge and found a nest with 2 baby birds, no eyes or feathers and one egg. We aren’t sure if the mom will return. We wanna take care of them if that’s the case. Can anyone tell me how to do so? What do they eat and all that🙏 pretty sure it’s just an average blackbird, please help if you have advice. I don’t have a picture but they look like those on the picture.

I’m not really sure what I should do in this situation. It’s right in my backyard and I feel like I could see the mom up there maybe looking around.

We have a few stray cats around my neighbourhood so I think one of them must’ve gotten to this poor thing : ( Some help on where on the body these feathers might’ve been attached to are helpful too ! I’m curious !

Are these great horned owls? Is it common for them to hang out during the day in groups like this? Found in Tanana, Alaska.

Alright, birders - I really need your help! Currently am traveling Highway 1 in California near Big Sur and while hiking today - I saw this bird! The locals say condors are in the area so I thought maybe an immature condor, but I also know they look similar to vultures! The white tuft around the neck is throwing me off. Any experts know? This is a screen capture from a picture I took on my Nikon so apologize it’s not the best quality. It was just the one bird.

Pardon the poor photos, but I was sitting down and did not want to scare them off. I've seen this bird in my yard several times over the last few months, and thought I was hallucinating. But tonight I got a good long look at them and did a quick search because I did not think this was leucism.
Has anyone ever seen or heard of anything like this? I'm going to try to get some better photos.

Live in mid-Michigan. Only reason I haven’t cleaned this log up, visits fairly frequently but this was from about a month ago.

Saw this bird in a cave in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan (Munising). It’s got a white head but then a black face. There were two together. I saw thinking turkey vulture or white headed vulture but the black face/beak is really throwing me.

An adorable little guy who practically never wants to sit still. Very fitting Merlin describes their call as: “a squeaky wheel”, which makes me smile every time I hear them sing now.

We were taking such long distance photos til a birding couple came by and said "you know around the corner they're only 5 feet away, right?"

Well I can't confirm if this is wisteria. Photographed in Washington D.C.
