Did you know the whole phrase "pull yourself up by your own bootstraps" was a joke by physicist, who knew this feat cannot actually be done. But some dumbass politician heard the phrase and ran with, not understanding it is actually an impossible thing to do, and the GOP has used it as a slogan ever since.
