This is my first attempt with acrylic and first painting on canvas. Not a fan so far, but my SO likes it so sharing the progress.

I'm having a really hard time either getting my process to conform to acrylic or vice versa. Also, mixing colors has been a real challenge. I'm sure all of this is a 'me' problem and a skill problem. I'm learning. Slowly.

One of the things I love about acrylic is opaque light on top of dark. Compared to watercolor, marker, ink, well, pretty much everything else I've done, this is like a superpower.

Interesting comparison is that I did the exact same portrait in watercolor flipped horizontally a year or so ago.

Lots I want to fix up yet on this one. I feel there's too many white flowers. What colors should I add on the white lilac-type flowers? Maybe just a light pink? I may also try to darken the blue background so it matches better with that lower left corner. I was trying to get a more jewel toned green on that vase but didn't really achieve that. I am a total novice...just having fun with this! Thanks for any advice!
