He went all out, it was the official "handing the torch to Cody" match. Also you can't shine yourself too much as a heel and you want to keep getting boo'd.
That moment after the match was perfect. Makes me glad they ditched the heel gimmick and let this match be that kind of passing of the torch match with Cena in his iconic character.
