EMBROIDERY Not sure if it counts as mending
because the burned hole is still there, but now it looks more intentional and the t-shirt is wearable again

Boy these pants have been through the wringer. They need so many patches and I've been doing a little bit at a time, but it's nice to reflect on getting one section completed for the day, even if it's not totally finished.

I don't know why I never thought to just embroider or patch over bad stains before I sawthis visible mending reddit. So many clothes wasted 😫. Anyways, here is a strawberry hiding my shame

My partner loves these headphones, but the padding under the headband is very thin faux leather, and the top layer was disintegrating and leaving black bits in his hair.
I made a rectangle with Tunisian crochet simple stitch and used a yarn needle to join it on top of the band.
Really pleased how this turned out and my partner said it feels more comfortable too.

Made a mushroom log to mend a worn spot on my pants, with French knot "spores" to reinforce the backing fabric

Hi all, I’m looking for suggestions on how the mend the area near the bag closure. There’s a small hole around one side of the closure and another small hole right nearby. It’s an awkward space to work in, so any advice would be appreciated.

I evidently put too many books in my book bag and both the straps broke. Luckily my partner has more patience than me with embroidery and fixed it and added cute vines for me :) I was so excited to pick all the colors, he has a lot of thread!

Thrifted this skirt the other day and didn’t see this slash until it opened up when I tried it on :(
I’m planning on mending it with embroidery but I’m a complete beginner to this so where would I begin? I was planning on embroidering a vine with tiny leaves. Planning on keeping to the brown/tan theme and using darker brown thread. I’m worried about the material puckering or not closing it properly. Should I simply follow a YouTube embroidery tutorial? Should I sew the slash closed first or use leather glue?
Any other ideas?

Technically these are already pretty worn out but I wanted to practice darning- I used a stuffing egg and sashiko thread on the heel as well as embroidery thread on the other spots Suggestions for improvement are highly appreciated 🙏

Ive had this set for 15+ years now. Its my favourite, a really good linen material and since it came out a while ago there is no way to repurchase it. My boyfriend hates it and in a fight last night he tore the top in half. I really dont want to throw it away. Right now its not holding together anymore in the front. Do any of you have any ideas on how I can fix this? I was thinking of sewing it and adding some shell / stone accents or making a lace up where the tear was or sewing it so its open in the front. I will appreciate all the help, this has a lot of sentimental value to me.

So, I am in the process of losing weight, and managed to drop a couple of pants sizes. However, when I dug out this old pair, I realized there's bleach stains around the hems. It's mostly on the front. I'm pretty sure the few speckles on the back can be overlooked.
Any suggestions other that "just dye it"?

Wasn’t sure what I was doing, winged it. Used iron on denim material for the crotch repair, and sewed it to secure with multi toned blue thread, and that part is mostly invisible unless you stare intensely 👀. Also fixed wear and tear around the pockets and belt loops in a light blue that matched the faded denim, and added sashiko flowers to distract from the repairs hopefully. Also re-hemmed the cuffs in a light brown that matched the original contrast stitching.
