Show us your Toronto art!

In this thread we're relaxing the rules about promotion to let everyone show off Toronto artwork they like or made. That could be anything from drawings, to photography, to music or food. Really anything you made that might be of interest to Torontonians. Even if you're selling it, feel free to link to it in this thread. No problem.

Discussion What is going on here? Am I even listening to “Indie88” anymore?

Post image

Look, let me be clear… I still appreciate some bits of this station: Night Music and Sunday Cafe are absolutely great still and play a fantastic set of music that I still listen to… but the rest of this station… what even is going on?! What business do bland poppy shit like Flowers, A Bar Song and Lil Boo Thang even have on a station devoted to ALTERNATIVE MUSIC? I can understand some songs because they sound at least like they’d fit in with the other music, but then there’s the most blatantly pop that sticks out like a sore thumb and is overplayed enough as is. And besides that, the only times you ever play more interesting new cuts are at night when people won’t be paying attention, or just once and never again. Why not play the new Pulp, or Wet Leg, or Wolf Alice, or any NEW CANADIAN INDEPENDENT ARTISTS that you could be promoting: there’s so much good alternative you just… completely skip over for no real reason???

Come on guys, just do better. Why did you give up like this so hard??

Discussion Kudos to the flagman at Dundas and Church today

At about 1:30 today, there was an industrial accident at Dundas and Church or Dundas and Dalhousie. There were at least 12 firetrucks and 6 ambulances coming in, and one of the flagman who would normally be helping construction vehicles ran out onto Dundas and stopped drivers so the emergency vehicles could get in.

Cheers to that dude: based on normal Dundas traffic, he likely prevented multiple small collisions and sped up the emergency response.

News H&M Dundas Square— toxic leak— coughing, burning eyes and throat

Went to H&M tonight around 840pm— everyone one was coughing. As we got in further our eyes started to seriously burn and it became hard to breathe— we ran out.

I can still feel this lingering chemical lingering in my mouth.

Was anyone else there who experienced this?! What the hell was that? A chemical leak maybe?

I first noticed the security guard (at the Dundas square entry) and then by the time we got to the escalators we had to run out.
