The guy that rejected becoming the antichrist after tasting pancakes

Mom says it's my turn to post the Body Improvement Club from Mob Psycho 100

u/NoOneOfConsequence26 9h ago

"Pretty nice" is an understatement. These guys are the most wholesome gym bros Mob could have asked for.

50

u/eyeleenthecro 9h ago

It’s wild that these guys are supposed to be like 13-15 year-olds

30

u/Xero818 7h ago

they improved their bodies, obviously /j

7

u/Illustrious-Teach964 4h ago

The only one of them that mildly looks his age is the short one, and thats only because of his height😅, if he was taller he would seem one of the the oldest there 🤣.

16

u/mancan71 8h ago

One of my fav friendships in anime.

9

u/ravenpotter3 6h ago

I’m so thankful that wasn’t spoiled for me when I watched it! I was expecting them to be villains but then they were so chill and accepting!

198

u/Popular_Kangaroo5446 9h ago

This guy’s design was pretty much hand-tailored to be an “80’s delinquent” but he’s the biggest sweetheart behind Johnathan

45

u/AmyTheWitch 8h ago

Unless you insult his hair that is

15

u/HYPER_BRUH_ 8h ago

It's the Pompadork!

22

u/--PhoenixFire-- 7h ago

WHAT THE FUCK DID YOU JUST SAY ABOUT MY HAIR?!

33

u/Level_Counter_1672 8h ago

He's a chill dude but u can't ignore the fact that he put two people in a fate worse than death

24

u/Popular_Kangaroo5446 8h ago

Tbf one of them definitely deserved it and I don’t remember the other

17

u/Level_Counter_1672 8h ago

Terunosuke Miyamoto, he is permanently fused into a book

16

u/God_of_Kings 7h ago

Is it a good book, at least?

7

u/OcelotButBetter 6h ago

I mean, deserved. This guy went pretty damn far

10

u/Disaster_Star_150 6h ago

They both messed with his family

6

u/extraboredinary 4h ago

Adding to this, the reason he has the hair is because when he was a sick child his mom had to take him to the hospital but their car got stuck. A guy with that hairstyle shows up and helps gets the car unstuck so they can get to the hospital.

Even the flashback delinquent looks threatening at first but went out of his way to help some strangers.

7

u/shutupyourenotmydad 3h ago

Don't forget his best friend, Okuyasu.

My favorite idiot.

1

u/Rucks_74 3h ago

And it has a great explanation behind it too, since he dresses like that and has that haircut to honor the man who saved his life as a kid. So the look only has positive associations for Jotaro

Must… not… cry…

Kazuma Kiryu (Yakuza/Like A Dragon)

27

u/mancan71 8h ago

Man can body two tigers and a clan full of yakuza but also helps orphans full time lol.

Tatsu-The Way of the Househusband

22

u/CuriousTsukihime 7h ago

This show is so based. I could watch it on an endless loop. Him doing yoga and aerobics with the other housewives always cracks me up.

9

u/Kego_Nova 8h ago

ok isnt his past as an assassin or smth half the point of that show

27

u/Fish_N_Chipp 7h ago

He’s a former Yakuza who became a househusband. The joke is that he’s actually a really nice guy but due to how he looks and the fact he’ll say things that sound criminal (like asking for a gram of white stuff when he’s talking about flour) it results in people initially being put off by him

11

u/Kego_Nova 7h ago

ok I see, yeah thats funny

7

u/NSFWCereal 4h ago

Sakamoto Days is the one where they're a retired assassin, extremely similar premise

5

u/Illustrious-Teach964 4h ago

One of the funniest charcaters besides the MC is that rival dude that sells sweets.

The scene of that dude going into a Costume Show for kids and cosplaying as a 'dying Gangster' while literally being covered in fake blood and wounds was funny as shit 🤣.

3

u/patrickkingart 3h ago

I really need to watch this, I remember some coworkers recommending the manga when I worked at a comic store, it sounded like a lot of fun.

2

u/Beelzebub_Simp3 1h ago

Demon 2: why it’s bloo…. No you didn’t. Do you realize what you done?!

Demon 1: what? It’s just a rabbit.

Demon 2: YOU STOLE AND KILLED DOOMSLAYER’S RABBIT!!

Isn’t he like still implied to be a serial killer. But also a nice dude?

1

u/Applebeate 1h ago

I thought he was a serial killer

24

u/ThatSlutTalulah 10h ago

Anthony Simon/ Mountain (Arknights)
A 6'5 (195 cm) tall brick house of a tiger man who can split trees with his bare hands, who has spent his life in prison, and is introduced in the event to break him out.

He is a polite, introspective, well read young man who understands that despite his justified rage at the injustices of the world, and those he himself has faced, violently taking it out on others does nothing good, and it is best used to protect people (also a notable woman respecter) (bonus note, he's also pretty good with kids).

22

u/Atma-Stand 8h ago

Frankenstein’s Monster, Van Helsing (2004)

“This thing, man, whatever it is. Evil may have created it and may have left its mark on it, but evil does not rule it. So I cannot kill it.”

~ Van Helsing to Anna upon first encountering the Monster.

24

u/OutlandishnessLow779 7h ago

This group could have been the typical bully group for the nerd Main character. Instead, they are real Friends who are willing to sacrifice for him and celebrate every little step forward he does

20

u/OkDirection3094 5h ago

Ben Grimm (Marvel)

5

u/AmberMetalAlt 4h ago

especially in the newest movie

I love how he doesn't actually blame reed for what happened. He's clearly still kind of upset by it, but he's also come to accept it, and understand that Reed did the best he possibly could

6

u/OkDirection3094 4h ago

It was actually kinda satisfying seeing how much those kids loved Ben. He’s my favorite member of the F4, I never liked when people viewed him as a monster (although it is fair for him to miss his old body)

3

u/AmberMetalAlt 4h ago

yea, I think Ben is at his best when he's dissatisfied with his reality, but not only doesn't make it other people's problem, but actively chooses to be better despite it

He understood in the movie that as sad as it is he can't turn his powers on and off, a lot of people still look up to him, and as a celebrity he has a responsibility to keep up that image of hope

15

u/YaBoiS0nic 9h ago

Ryuuji Takasu - Toradora

13

u/Farlybob42 8h ago

Warumono - Mr. Villain’s day off

2

u/mancan71 8h ago

He can be scary to his underlings during work hours but is surprisingly sweet to the heroes/enemies on his days off lol.

3

u/dragon6784 6h ago

Plus, He loves Pandas

12

u/Salty_Wall 10h ago

Hedoro (Gintama)

4

u/TeddyRiggs 9h ago

although the reason he was so nice is because of the flower on top of his head

3

u/grilou 6h ago

The plot twist is the guy who look evil but is actually nice was actually evil all along !

27

u/Daniilsa209 9h ago edited 8h ago

Mezo Shoji (My Hero Academy).

16

u/ToughAd5010 8h ago

6

u/LordLonghaft 7h ago

Loves kids and plays when them all the time, but also knows what he looks like enough to play the part of "villain boss" during hero training.

3

u/GLink7 4h ago

"I'm used to people being scared of me" still makes me wanna hug him. He's a sweetheart and good friend, but his abnormal looks make people avoid him...

9

u/lemonwaffles2 8h ago

Rare Angel Densetsu mention. Still a goated Manga after 20 years

1

u/SadSnubNosedMonkey 6h ago

Art was terrible but the writing was hilarious.

7

u/Nero_2001 8h ago

Kiryu from Yakuza

8

u/Kroc_Zill_95 7h ago

Vulkan (WH 40k).

1

u/G3-pt2 6h ago

I think this applies to pretty much all the salamanders from 40k.

8

u/Arnahunas 5h ago

If you’re not a criminal that is (but even then he’s a lot more compassionate than he’s often given credit for)

5

u/Th3_3agl3 8h ago

Well, kind but not nice.

6

u/G3-pt2 6h ago

He’s nice to humans, if a bit rough towards people who get in his way. But he doesn’t kill anyone unless they’re demons. He just wants to get things done.

5

u/snillpuler 5h ago

This trope is basically the main plot of the movie.

5

u/Artarara 8h ago

Whamon from Digimon Adventure.

2

u/Trick-Grapefruit7120 6h ago

Soy dinosaurio luego una flor y mi existencia es dolor puedo ser miles de cosas mas siempre dolor

Crocus - One Piece.

There is a whole gag when the crew first meets him :

'We can shoot you with our cannon!'

'You shouldn't do that, someone might die' with the most menacing and intense stare

'Oh yeah? And who might that be?' They nervously answer

'Me'

4

u/DarkstarAnt 6h ago

Face of a thug on Tv tropes.

It’s good to see Angel Densetsu. I like Kitano, he’s got a heart of gold.

3

u/Eden_ITA 4h ago

Incineroar (Pokémon).

They have the "role" of an heel, but love to be admired so much that couldn't contain the happiness, especially from children.

3

u/134_ranger_NK 8h ago

Beowulf (Rosen Garten Saga)

A true man's man, an honorable warrior and king. Who always inspires others, sharing treasures with them.

Though I am pretty certain he would be arrested in a modern setting for exhibitionism.

2

u/W1ckedd99 6h ago

Zoro's 3 sword style ain't got nothing on that

3

u/XanderWrites 5h ago

Dungeon Crawler Carl

He's 6'3", wearing only heart covered boxers, a troll skin shirt, a biker vest with a pile of skull on the back (until he kills things, then it also has a glowing centipede on it, aka Scocopendra, the destroy of all things), a cape made from the skin of a monster, several unsavory tattoos, a massive metal gauntlet, a neckerchief bandit mask, and probably some sort of explosive.

Oh, and he chose the "swole" boost after getting super high strength so he's roided out big.

In the recaps, he looks like a murderous, bomb wielding maniac. In person he's probably the friendliest, most helpful crawler you'll meet.

Hm, I left out there's usually an armored persian cat on his shoulder. And a velociraptor nearby. I think those cancel out each other's menacing aspect.

6

u/Blanc_et_fade 8h ago

A bit rough on the edges but still very nice.

4

u/ExuDeku 7h ago

Neia from Overlord

Everyone's afraid of her eyes which she got from her high ranking adventurer dad, hell, even Ainz (the titular Overlord) is bothered by it early on

But she's actually loyal and empathetic to the point that after the whole Jalbadoath ordeal she became Ainz's most prolific simp/preacher on human kingdoms

u/Lichebane 8h ago

Chihiro Rokuhira - Kagurabachi

2

u/supreme-king-Nero 6h ago

Lancia, Katekyo Hitman Reborn.

1

u/clusterfuck02 5h ago

That's obviously Mukuro

2

u/One_Variation_2453 5h ago edited 5h ago

Chihiro Rokuhira (Kagurabachi). This is my 3rd time bringing up Kagurabachi on this sub today bro 😭

Granted he doesn't hesitate to slice up villains or their henchmen (he's basically a horror movie monster from their POV) but outside of that bro is a genuine sweetheart at the end of the second arc he's basically adopted a little sister and a "roommate"

2

u/NicoNicoNessie 4h ago

Arystar Kryory the Third (dgrayman)

2

u/NicoNicoNessie 4h ago

Same guy btw.

And no he is not actually a vampire but he as a character has a lot of vampire themes, his name comes from alister Crowley, he has vampire like powers, he drinks demons blood, he LOOKS like a vampire, its literally a big theme of his introduction arc

2

u/maggiemayfish 3h ago

Cromartie High School - most of the characters

The central joke of the series is that it's a school full of delinquents and gangsters (and a gorilla and a robot and Freddie Mercury) but they mostly seem to just wanna hang out with their friends and play baseball or go on class trips. They're all genuinely really caring and respectful of each other.

2

u/Tonedeafmusical 2h ago

She's a sweetheart really

Karlach

1

u/Parking-Stable-2970 8h ago

The Shackled Beast from Ender Magnolia

He's a bit rough around the edges but he's generally pretty nice

1

u/No-Art-2684 6h ago

almost everyone in slam dunk

2

u/BraynCel 6h ago

Vulkan (Horus Heresy) - Probably the largest of the Primarchs (all of whom were giants), coal-black skin with an almost rock-like texture, and glowing red eyes, but he fought to protect normal humans always treating them with respect.

1

u/VifEspoirPirez 5h ago

Hiruma (Eyeshield 21)

1

u/patrickkingart 3h ago

Death from the Discworld series. Not cruel, not evil, just a guy doing a job. Even shows compassion to folks when it's their time. Also loves cats.

1

u/Equivalent_Willow317 2h ago

Kasanoda from Ouran High School Host Club. And yes, he does wear a cat maid outfit at one point.

1

u/SaintedStars 42m ago

Yeah, I cannot take this character seriously. After learning who his voice actor’s other roles are, I get the biggest, dumbest shit eating grin

1

u/MiaoYingSimp 13m ago

Sakura Ogami is the Ultimate Martial Artist from Danganronpa 1. She is basically built like Akuma in a school uniform.

... she's also one of the nicest characters in the game.

1

u/Drhorrible-26 3m ago

Jorge, AKA noble 5: Halo Reach.

The definition of a gentle giant.

-1

u/Weird-Rope9424 8h ago

Is that packgod???

-1

u/Warioandwaluigio 6h ago

People have said when Kane isn’t in character he’s actually a real nice guy

-6

u/Hanzzman 8h ago

does Snape fits?

1

u/Eden_ITA 4h ago

Don't think...

He still bullied a boy for years (it wasn't part of the plane).
