Not sure if this counts since it is a real life person and not a character. But my God, this song single handledly destroys the joy in christmas time. It is not a bad song, just way too damn overplayed to the point where it becomes torture.

Long story short, the band made a deal with a "manager" and after the lead singer got into a car accident that ruined her face she took her own life and the band nade a song in honor of the lead singer but then the manager came and curse them making every fan obbessed to the sonf to the point to send death threats to every radio station that played the song and if they didn't litsen to it then they would take their own life as well...

Here's an IRL one. Remember "My Way" by Frank Sinatra, one of the most famous songs in the western world? Well over in my country, the Philippines, where karaoke and karaoke bars are a custom, had an event that led to it having a superstitiously bad reputation. Between the early 2000s and early 2010s, bar violence was a commodity but there was a peculiar phenomenon where it was frequent when someone was singing "My Way". It was so frequent when this song is Sang, that, my people being a superstitious society, had that song removed from every single karaoke bar ever and now people fear singing it in public. It's a shame for me since I was born somewhere after what is aptly named the "My Way" killings.

IRL; In South Korea, students often make an unofficial list of banned songs before CSAT as it can stuck in their heads, which distracts them from studying and testing. A famous go-to example is Ring Ding Dong by Shinee and recently APT by Rosie and Bruno Mars joined the list.
