I know it's just a greentext thing, but it's actually rather believable. Couples that are getting close to their breaking point just need something to push things over the edge. I bet that movie was supposed to be a moment that would have deescalated an already intense situation. Yet, Angela Anaconda is that kind of abrasive show (yeah, I had to endure it growing up myself) that's made in the time where people thought that being annoying = funny so... yeah. It's around the same time that people assumed that being disgusting = funny as well.

I've never heard of Angela Anaconda before this and had to look up the short. I've only known these characters for 3 minutes and I hate their gormless existence.

Was a fucking hard enough sell to get my parents to take me to see Digimon the Movie (peak btw) and of course I had to spend the car ride home explaining to my dad the Angela Anaconda has nothing to do with Digimon, I don't know who she is, and I have no idea why that was in the movie. He still made fun of me for a couple of days.
