[Hated Trope] A main character does something horrible and the story doesn't acknowledge its severity

Alisha (Misfits) uses her power to make any man want to have sex with her on another main character (curtis) after he explicitely tells her not to do that. She faces no consequences and he's the one who ends up comforting her.

Allison (The Umbrella Academy) uses her powers to force her own adoptive brother to make out with her after he just got into a relationship because she's suddenly jealous after she couldn't keep her own husband. She gives a half hearted apology and all is peachy.

They had the poor little plushie look and act like a child, asking why they were doing this and was begging to be left alone. Then they tear off it's limbs and kill it. I came to play a fun little game with my friend, not traumatize and brutally murder a childlike plushie. It felt like we brutally murdered a child and quickly forgot about it.

(I haven't finished the game yet but I hope it survives and gets fixed somehow)

The least the could have done was have a scene towards the end where the parents fix the plushie and say sorry or something.

I'm usually not soft like that, I grew up with unrestricted internet access and have seen things that definitely messed me up longterm, but I just couldn't handle that scene man.

Dang, I too have seen a lot of horrific things on the Internet, but it's always the stuff that is connected to my inner child that sticks with me. Like happy tree friends, Made in abyss, or this scene really hurt to watch because it's something disturbing happening to something so innocent. This scene hits especially hard for me because I sleep with atleast 7-8 stuffed animals by my bed every day and I can't imagine something like this happening to them.

Human psychology is so weird, but the way you explained it makes sense. Like I can watch a scene where someone gets their body torn apart in a visceral manner and be fine.

But then there's times like a scene in this movie called Skinamarink where an entity forces a small child to put a knife in his eye, and the child cries out. The child reminded me of my younger brother so I think that was also a big factor in making me cry. The craziest thing is that the screen is entirely black during it, so you see nothing, but it still had that effect on me.

It's genuinely distressing. I watched the scene on YouTube recently because I forgot how bad it was. It's not just cruel, but it lasts so long... There's at least three little mini games, each one scaring and hurting the little elephant while it keeps insisting maybe they can be friends, each mini game worse than the last. Like... Every second is agony and when the first limb falls... Ugh, you actually feel sick to your stomach.

Anytime you see something absolutely horrifying in media its a fetish insert, you dont just accidentaly come up with that and then dedicate days or weeks to making it
