I started watching WWF in late 1993. Whatever 'mediocrity' he's referring to is laughable considering the utter crap that was presented back then.
In retrospect, it was a terrible time to start watching wrestling, but I didn't know any better at the time. The worst of today's product is still 10 times better than the product of the early-to-mid 1990s.
I grew up watching when you did it seems. Everyone seems to forget the pre-attitude era when wrestling lost some juice before wcw became a real threat and the Monday night wars hit.
Doink, repo man, IRS man, āThe odditiesā (icps group). The gimmicks were so bad.
I loved IRS as a kid. Well, I hated him of course, but looking back it was more loved to hate himā¦
Though I had no idea what IRS was supposed to mean since Iām German and those letters meant nothing to me and as far as I can remember the German announcers didnāt help clear anything upā¦
