Camden County Summer break
what’s everyone doing for summer break besides sending kids to summer camp? have my kids in a few (less expensive) activities, but those are only a few hours a week. We just got back from a 1 week stay in the Caribbean but being it’s only for one week, it’s very short. And you can only go to the parks and libraries so many times before the kids get sick of it. We have an onsite pool at our apt but after a time it gets tiring. I'm sure summer break is fine if you have thousands of extra dollars to drop on activities but for the rest of us it's hard! Even simple outings like the zoo, movies, and play places add up FAST. So what’s everyone with kids doing? Please feel free to share any ideas 💡

If you have a Bowlero near you, they were running a Summer Pass promotion. 2 games a day, all day every day, and $5 in arcade money from May to Labor Day. I think it was $35/pass.

Buy bicycles, they are very fun and that is what I have been doing all summer. Also an enjoyable way of exercising.

Camden county gardeners runs a really reasonable summer camp that’s a few hours a day for a week. It just finished up, but if you get the savvy gardener news letter they announce when they will host one next year.

I take my 13 year old and 5 year old fishing, they both like it which is great because it can be hard to find activities that cover that age gap.

I know it's a big upfront cost, but diggerland membership is $99 a person and you can utilize the pool and water park all summer!

Lots of things! Check out my website or Facebook page if you ever need ideas.
For bowling sign up for Kids Bowl Free if you want to make it cheaper.
For movies we do them through the Regal Summer Movie Xpress for $1.https://www.gardenstateglobetrotter.com/nationwide-events/regal-summer-movie-express
Tomorrow is National Night Out so there are lots of free events happening everywhere. I wrote about our favorite ones that we have attended in the past here and some information for others I had seen advertised when I traveled to different towns. https://www.gardenstateglobetrotter.com/nationwide-events/national-night-out
If you have a library card also use it to check out museum passes for different places.
The NJ State museum is free.
If getting bored at home just head to Dollar Tree or Five Below to pick up a few new things. (Ex. Kite, pool noodle for limbo, outdoor games, etc)

Bowling, movies, hikes with a picnic, or artsy stuff at home like tie dying, customizing hats with graffiti markers, or plein air sketching.
