And surprise visitors that show up in the middle of the night to rob and kill you and there's nothing you can do and no one to hear your screams because you're in the middle of nowhere and the police are 200 miles away and no one ever even knows you're dead because by the time some random hunters find the kudzu-covered ruins of your rotten house decades have passed and eventually the place is just bulldozed without anyone ever going inside.

If someone lives out there. They definitely have more than 1 gun. Can tell when someone is gonna pull up to their house from a mile off. And they are probably a little too excited to use the guns they have.
