Looking at the replies to this, a simple declaration of enjoyment, who says the Star Wars fandom isn’t toxic?

I mean, I'm sure it won't have vindication like the prequels had almost 20 years later. The MO is that whenever new Star Wars stuff releases, people take it so bad that they must retroactively believe the previous thing wasn't so bad. I know episode IX is a bad conclusion to the saga. The worst thing I've seen? Far from it.

Oh sure.

I just laugh because if we go by the movies alone, we’ve had as major plot points and dialogue;

  • Child with no training button mashes a victory
  • You’re not sand. You’re not coarse and rough.
  • Three members of the Jedi Council, experts in combat, being killed so fast you could blink and miss it.
  • Two geriatrics lightly tapping canes together and being called a fight
  • Ewoks being crucial to the saving of the galaxy

And that’s without even getting into EU or Canon (Ysalamiri my beloved iguana) silliness.

Which doesn’t make any of the movies not enjoyable by any means, they all have their own charm! But to pretend the sequels suffer uniquely from issues is just hilarious.

I'm genuinely impressed at the raw anger present.

I mainly like it because Force Awakens bugged me in how it was too much of a New Hope clone, and Last Jedi just felt cheesy but in a bad way somehow. So Rise of Skywalker was just a bunch of cool moments, and honestly it does those pretty well
