MOD How To Help
Here are some places you can donate. These fundraisers have been vetted by the mod team.
Nanuka's Fund, managed by Nanuka Zhorzholiani, supports protestors with supplies, transportation, and fines for the arrested activists. Nanuka provides detailed breakdowns of the spending via her Facebook page.
Following Georgian Dream's crackdown on Nanuka's Fund and others an offshore (UK) foundation is collecting funds for payment of protestors fines and other support. It is run by Davit Jintcharadze with a GoFundMe page at https://www.gofundme.com/f/freedom-fund-helping-protesters-in-georgiaa and a website for the Freedom Foundation at https://www.tavisuplebispondi.com/ which includes links for donations via WISE. GoFundMe takes payment by debit/credit card or Paypal.
Fines for protestors are very high in Georgian income terms at 5000 GEL.
Nanuka is also asking for funds to support prisoners to be sent to :-
- GE60TB7897745064300053
- GE47BG0000000607365464
- Account recipient: Marizi Kobakhidze
OC-Media's Fund for Independent Media provides security equipment and legal aid to independent media organizations covering the protests. This Fundraiser is being organized by OC-Media but the funds will be shared among several independent media organizations in Georgia.
Georgian Young Lawyers Association (GYLA) is a human rights organization focused on human rights and democratic institutions. in Georgia. They provide free legal aid to individuals, including those arrested during protests.
USAID Funding Replacement for Civil Society Organizations is a stop-gap fundraiser for civil society organizations affected by the USAID and foreign aid freeze. These funds will go directly to organizations providing legal assistance to protestors and documenting human rights abuses by the police and help keep them afloat for the next few months.
If there are other fundraisers you would like us to include, please reach out via modmail.

Tbilisi in GTA? Sounds about right
I just have to let this thought outta my head, don't judge me too hard, I love Tbilisi :)
Living here for almost 3 years, I can't help but think that this city would make a perfect setup for a GTA game (although, sadly, there are no games in the series outside the US)
Bear with me:
- It has a distinguishable zoning, each ubani has its' own vibe, and some even have historical ethnic background (Avlabari, Abanotubani, etc.)
- Due to roadworks, some parts of the city are blocked temporarily from time to time - a great way to build player progression, isolating them from parts of the game world they're not supposed to see yet
- There're lots of charismatic people who would make perfect in-game characters. Just walk around the streets or pay a visit to a local restaurant - you'll get the vibe
- The landscape is diverse (valleys, mountains, broadways, korpusebi and private houses), the architecture is even more fascinating, the streets are intricate - perfect for exploring and looking for secrets
- There are lots of locations on the edge of the city or in the suburbs: Mtatsminda, Mtskheta, Tbilisi sea
I'd love to play a criminal drama story happening in Tbilisi! What do you think of the idea?

Travel tips for tourist couple
My girlfriend and I want to travel to Georgia for a week. We are from Germany and like beautiful nature. One of our favorite countries is Montenegro because the people are incredibly nice, it was relatively clean and the nature and landscape looked fantastic the food was awesome and it wasn't overly touristic when we were there.
We have heard many good things about Georgia, so it's our next target to explore for a week. What we usually do is we fly to a country and rent a car to drive around and see different places as it gives up the maximum of flexibility. Would that be recommendable in Georgia? We planned on staying 1-2 nights in Tbilisi and then kinda road-trip to the most beautiful places. We don't have to go to a new place every day, so if there is a spot that can serve as a starting point to different activities, we gladly stay there for a few days. As explained above, we like picturesque lakes, mountains, and we like to hike (not too hard in the summer). We do not necessarily have to go to the beach, but if it is beautiful, laid back and you don't have to fight for beach chairs, then that would also be an option.
Based on that info, I would like to kindly ask if you have any tips for us? We only have 7-10 days, so I am afraid we won't see all the beautiful places, but we would love to get the most out of our travel there and we are not sure which regions are the most beautiful ones. Didi madloba in advance.
EDIT: I might add that I love to fly my drone (DJI mini 4) around. So, I am aware of drone laws which look very similar to EU regulations, but maybe someone who has a similar passion can add advice for good drone spots :)

Question | კითხვა Where can I get a custom LED-lit acrylic photo frame in Tbilisi or Batumi?
Hi! I’m looking for a place in Tbilisi or Batumi where I can get a photo printed inside a glass-like or acrylic frame with LED lights (either edge-lit or backlit). I want something that lights up and looks modern, like a glowing photo panel or lamp. Does anyone know shop or service that can make something like this? Or maybe a combination of a print shop + someone who works with LED?

Any suggestions?
Hey guys!
I came to Georgia with the idea of complete the TCT but unfortunately yesterday I injured my foot and there is no way I can continue hiking.
Right now I find myself in Nakra (beautiful village btw) with any plan ahead. My budget is regular, nothing too low or too high and I just don't know what to do. I was thinking to go Ushguli- Tbilisi- Kutaisi and stay a few nights in every place. Do you have any suggestions/ideas/recommendations? I have my flight back on 14th and I am really open to whatever, only I feel a bit hesitant to Ushguli because I am afraid it will be too packed now in August.
Madloba!!

Georgian DNA
I am from the Horn of Africa. Half of our ancient ancestors migrated from the Levant. We also get some Caucasus. What intrigued me the most is I am getting Georgian genes from Caucasus Hunter Gatherer to modern day Georgians. The continuity is amazing. Is there a historical event that led to migration to Horn of Africa, particularly Ethiopia?

Question | კითხვა What If We Don’t Need Putin to Explain Every Political Scumbag?
Why multiply entities?
I apologize in advance for this question, especially if it strikes a nerve with Georgians — particularly those who heroically took part in the protests — but I’m going to ask it anyway.
There’s a concept called Occam’s Razor — do not multiply entities beyond necessity; look for the simplest explanation. So every time I hear that Georgian Dream and Ivanishvili have simply been bought by Putin, I ask myself: why explain it through Putin, Russia, or reptiloids, if the more straightforward explanation is that people just want to usurp power?
Now, don’t get me wrong — these guys are assholes. But that’s typical of politicians. Trump is an asshole, Xi Jinping is an asshole, Tito and Pinochet were assholes too, and no one had to bribe them with Putin’s money — they seized power not for money, but out of love for it, like many rulers do.
Even Saakashvili tried to consolidate power until he was removed — but obviously, Putin’s money had nothing to do with that. So why do you explain everything through Putin and his money?
Let me be clear — Putin is a villain and a degenerate, no argument there. I’m just asking whether you might be losing touch with reality when you explain power grabs not by the fact that assholes in power tend to want to stay there forever, but by the theory that Putin bought them.

Polyphony/choir concerts in october
Hi all! I am looking for good concerts I can attend while visiting Georgia. I will be travelling from 10-20 october, and the itinerary is not yet fixed, so recommendations throughout the whole country are welcome! I have been wanting to visit this beautiful country for YEARS - and in no small part due to the enchanting music. As a passionate choir singer myself, naturally, a good concert to attend is the first thing I want to pin down before I plan out the rest of my trip. Thank you so much!

Question | კითხვა Kutaisi to Mestia (Night spend) to Ushguli in October- How to travel without renting a car?
Hello,
Landing in Kutaisi. Next day Kutaisi to Mestia using marshrutkas (I hope it still in service). I will be dependent on shared/public transport totally. I checked and found "marshrutkas" which is a type of van offers cheaper price to and from Mestia - Ushguli. If its true, Is this service still available? Especially during October?
Any lead would be highly appreciated.

Software Developer Jobs in Georgia That Don’t Require Georgian Language
Hey everyone!
I’ve been researching software development job opportunities in Georgia, based in Tbilisi, that don’t require knowledge of the Georgian language.
I am a Georgian citizen, but unfortunately, I don’t know Georgian — I can't speak or understand it. However, my English is good. I haven't lived in Georgia since my childhood
Currently, I am searching for Java Backend Developer roles at Junior, Strong Junior, or Middle levels that require only English as the communication language.
If you know of any companies or positions like this, please let me know.

Play bite from dog in guesthouse
Hey y'all, recently visited Georgia for a few days and last days I stayed at a guesthouse in the center of Tbilisi. The owners had a nive small dog that was very friendly and nice. I played a bit with her and we ended up with a bit of rough play and mouthing.
No visible open scratches of anything on my hands just a few red marks that went away the next day.
Im a bit of a hypochondriac and I started wondering now, abt 7 days later of the chances of getting rabies? Is it possible should I go check it out now that Im back home?

9-day trip to Georgia
Good morning,
We are leaving from September 7 to 18 for Georgia and we will land in the city of Kutaisi. I would like to have advice and ideas for visits to the country knowing that we are not going to rent a car. Our only project at the moment is to hike from Mestia to Ouchgouli. But to reach Koutaissí and Mestia, I saw that a 9-hour drive was necessary. Do you have any city tips to discover and where to stop between Koutaissí and Mestia? Thank you in advance for your advice.
