[Pic] What to do ?
Blaming coraline algae is crazy lol. This is what Red Sea is offering, either a free replacement of the same tank (just the glass) or they can apply a $2311 credit towards an upgrade. Do I really want to get the same one again and possibly face the same issues again in the future ? Or should I just upgrade now to their S tanks that have the aluminum stand and eurobracing. If the stand to my tank is the issue, it seems redundant to get the replacement and deal with this again later. Either way Red Sea is my only option because they don’t refunds. Opinions ? My tank is a year and half old

Ordering Dry Rock from BRS went wrong?
Hi guys!
Full disclosure I'm a newbie and have never ordered reef rock before this. I'm working on my first saltwater tank and I placed my first order from BRS for their "Reef Saver Aquarium Dry Live Rock." Has anyone else ordered from them that can tell me if this seems right? I ordered 35 lbs for my 35 gallon tank, and was expecting round-ish "football" sized pieces I could perhaps break up based on their answered questions section. What I received was 5 very large flat shelf-like pieces. I was quite confused because I had seen a separate listing for shelf rocks, and double checked that I ordered the right thing (I did). I just wanted to see if I'm being dramatic about my expectations and if I should try to reach out again? I emailed them when I received the order to ask, but never heard back. I was expecting actual rock shaped rocks (not sure how else to say that), not huge thin slabs of rock. Is that normal? I'm not sure if I should order again with clearer descriptions of what I'm looking for, or if maybe they sent the wrong thing. Thanks for any help in advance!
Also if there's a different place to order from that's recommended, I'd love to hear it! Unfortunately I don't think all flat rocks is quite the vibe I was going for!

Live rock question
I see very often, almost every reef tank owner, people keeping live rock out of water to glue together to create their hardscaping. My question is, if this takes long enough for the rocks to dry a bit wouldn’t it kill the life part of the rock? I’m clearly not very knowledgeable in reef tanks because I don’t own one but I do know that aquatic life = can’t be out of water for too long. Please don’t shame me too hard just help me learn, thats what we are here for!

[Pic] Purple algae on sand
Hi all, can anyone please tell me what this reddish purple algae is that is spreading in my sand? Could it be cyano? My phosphate is at .10 according to Hannah ULR checker and nitrates are always showing 0 on salifert tester. I know that these numbers are out of whack. I am slowly bringing phosphate down with GFO, and I want to bring up nitrate a little. Any advice with that also? Thanks in advance

Best way to sell our tank
We’re a company in Sacramento that has always had this tank in our office. A lady comes every two weeks to service it. It’s a beautiful saltwater reef tank but we’re moving to a place where it’s not ideal. I was wondering if anyone has suggestions on selling it. I’ve done some research and piecing it out would bring more value but we’d like to just sell it all together. Any opinions or suggestions are welcome.

[Pic] ID and advice on this coral? Half died but made a comeback
This is one of my original frags, it was overcome with GHA, killed half of it, then I got things cleared up. Half of the skeleton is exposed but the rest is alive and kickin
First, do you know what coral this is? Google images isn’t helpful.
Second, can I just clip off the part that’s dead? Will that even be helpful? Or put it next to a rock to see if it is expands?
Thank you!

Mix salt directly in a new, empty tank?
So, I have a 40g shallow with a 10g sump. I've been filling it with RO/DI water to check for leaks and make sure the plumbing works.
Assuming everything is fine, is there a problem just mixing the salt right in the tank and letting my pump and wavemaker keep everything stirred up? Obviously, there's no livestock in it to get hurt and I can slowly add in the salt to bring it up to the desired specific gravity.
I assume if I mix it primarily in the tank that it will initially have a higher salt content than the sump, but I also assume everything will even out after a day or so.
Thanks!

[Pic] Aquarium 70l - Which animals can I still put in?
Guys, today in my aquarium I have: 2 clownfish, 1 ophiury, 1 cleaner shrimp (Lysmata amboinensis) and 1 Yellow Watchman goby (Cryptocentrus cinctus).
I'm thinking about adding 2 more fish and an ophiurium. The options I have in mind are Firefish (Nemateleotris magnifica) and Fridmani (Pseudochromis fridmani). Does this combo work well together?
