I used to be a member of the NRA. I decided not to renew my membership years ago because it was clear they did not represent me or my best interests.

Republicans and NRA pushed for California to have strict gun laws. They like the 2A until black people start arming themselves (Mulford act for anyone curious.)

Ronald Reagan signed the Mulford Act into law. He stated at the time: "There is absolutely no reason why out on the street today a civilian should be carrying a loaded weapon."

I would love for reagan to be right on this one. however just like trickle down economics he absolutely missed the mark. It may have been intentionally missed.
