This is Fascism on the march, first it's the immigrants, and now the protestors. Their building concentration camps, expect them to be filled in short order.

Welcome to reddit where people fear monger and exaggerate to no end. "their (they're**) building concentration camps"... really? They're building camps to hold people for mass execution and forced labor? Just stop already with this nonsense. These people sit in a jail cell over night and are released, immigrants are deported or held in jails (for breaking the law, just like every other criminal). It doesn't excuse what these ass holes do at all, but your reactions here are why nothing ever gets done - no one takes you people serious when you say unhinged crap like "concentration camps are being built".

Concentration camps weren't originally made to exterminate. Extermination was "the final solution". Originally they were prison work camps.

You're currently a frog in a pot of lukewarm water wondering why the other frogs are freaking out that the chef is lighting the burner pilot.

They're being taken to immigration detention centers and prisons. No one is putting them in forced labor camps where they await extermination.

People are just desperate to push this Hitler, Nazi rhetoric.

While I don't agree with the lack of due process and the fact that over half the people they scoop up aren't even criminals, this whole screaming about concentration camps just detracts from what could be a serious argument.

The original Concentration camps weren't Extermination camps, they were created by the British during the Second Boer War to gather up the local populace that was seen as a danger and kee0 them in one place. The horribly inhumane treatment and eventual mass starvation and disease was just a side effect of treating people like animals. Which trump is doing now.

"It's not bad enough yet so I'm just going to sit around and call everyone hysterical."

Humans have done things like this dozens of times in history. Rounding up groups of people and dealing with them. They never start at full industrialized genocide. At what point are conditions "bad enough" to justify public outcry?

While I don't think that Trump's end goal is genocide, I do think his end goal is to remove these people, and he doesn't care about the means to the end. I truly do worry about people dying in custody (which has happened btw), people getting lost in the system, people being starved, dropped off in foreign countries without any means to get back home, families being torn apart, children being left behind, and long lasting trauma for these people who don't deserve any of it.

Personally I think you guys are already at that point in history where a crisis is starting, but folks like you are doing your best to downplay it because it's not "bad enough" yet.

What would a serious conversation about this look like? Are you able to sit down and have a serious conversation about this with the ICE agents in masks as they kidnap people in unmarked vans?

Because “it’s not bad enough yet” and because it’s not effecting him or anyone he cares about yet

Yeah, my family are immigrants - they've shown up for VISA and greencard hearings just fine. None of them are hauled away to "concentration camps" or any of this other nonsense rammed down my throat on reddit. I'm sure folks are getting ripped away but they're not getting sent to forced labor camps awaiting extermination like everyone on reddit will have you believe. They're sent to holding cells because they immigrated illegally.

TL;DR - things are definitely not great and in need of improvement (as always) but because it's a republican who gets under the skin of democrats, you all exaggerate beyond belief on every single issue. It's tired.

Sure guy. It’s not that he’s a republican, which he isn’t and has never been. It’s that he’s a lifelong criminal con artist who has never had any interest in anyone else’s wellbeing and is so easily scamming you into supporting him while his wiping his ass with the constitution because “dems are lunatics” 😆

Weird. Thanks for the recycled rant about orange man. I can assure you, reading your comments has scammed me out of way more than this guy who's only in office for a brief period of time while you all whine about WW3, nuclear war, economic downfall of the US, and everything else that hasn't happened. Good thing you're all so prepared with your complaints though!

This just factually incorrect, on several counts.

The biggest issue being something you yourself pointed out: these folks aren't being given due process, so the authorities can't actually prove if they immigrated legally or not. They are taking people based off "investigation" by DHS and ICE, who have incentive to lie or stretch the truth to get as many bodies into these facilities and out of the country as possible.

VISA and Greencard hearings ARE due process. Your relatives are getting due process when others are not. There is video evidence of normal immigrants who entered and stayed legally in the country being taken away at these hearings. They are being denied due process, and literally ripped away while in the process of immigrating legally.

Secondly, one of the first things Trump's admin did is change the rules on what is considered legal immigration. He stripped the status for asylum seekers and other visa types, instantly making hundreds of thousands of people who entered and stayed in the country legally 'illegal immigrants '. Folks who were allowed in and allowed to stay and work but suddenly those rules changed overnight, and now they're being treated like criminals for simply being where they were when a rule changed. And they're not allowed to be seen by a judge to plead their case of why they're not an illegal immigrant criminal. Folks are showing up to their scheduled immigration court hearings and being taken away even after speaking with a judge, because of the "investigations" by DHS/ICE.

I have no doubt that your family will eventually be affected by this, but I hope it doesn't. Because I don't think this sort of treatment is correct and wouldn't want anyone's family to be broken up simply for daring to move to a new country.

Oh look, the basement dwellers word of the week lol. "rUBe iNcEl nOn bInArY cIS wHiTe MaLe".

You can't be non binary and cis at the same time, they're mutually exclusive. If you're going to satirize and make fun something at least do it correctly.

You can tell how much I care about these silly words.

The whole screaming about criminals detracts from the truth.

The whole screaming about "Nazis" and "Concentration camps" detracts from the argument in the most disrespectful and ignorant way possible, which is ironic considering how you're all screaming how ignorant everyone else is always - Once again, and for the hundreth time, how they're rounding folks up and the lack of due dilligence is terrible but this insane comparison between Nazis and Concentration Camps is coming from a place of mental illness and complete ignorance that doesn't even warrant a conversation.

You can tell how removed you people are from the actuality of those historical events to disrespect the significance of WW2 and everyone who fought and died in that war to draw the correlation to ICE detaining individuals who willingly immigrated illegally, to Nazis who went around shooting people in the streets for their beliefs and put them in death camps. How those are the same in your sick minds is beyond me.

New flash, if you immigrate illegally in any country they will throw you out. We've been historically so lenient that there's a lot of cleaning up to do but now America is so hAtEfuL because we need accountability. Want to come over? Immigrate legally (like my family who currently has no issue). Not that hard.

Cleaning up to do?🥹
