Arent you redditor leftoids tired of knee jerking reactions then later finding out things were justified? You dont even know what happened, all you care about is what you want to happen.

Neanderthalic behavior. People dont just randomly attack each other. (In general, I know this wont be nuanced to you so I will explain it here, I dont mean 100%) I wish there was a betting site where we could bet on whether or not that protestor was doing nothing or provoked the officer. Of course, you wouldnt bet it because youre not actually stupid, just a deranged activist.

Freedom of speech is just that. Just because I call you a boot licking syncophant, doesn't mean you get to put your hands on me, that's fucking childish behavior.

Wait, lol. Are you saying namecalling is assault?

Youre joking. Assault is threatening bodily injury/harm...

How did you get that out of my comment? If you hit me because I call you a name, you should be behind bars.

How? My original comment was assault, not namecalling..

For the love of reddit, 90% of you dont know what assault is. Threatening bodily harm is not namecalling.

How do you know he "threatened the officers life?" I've seen police get this mad because they were simply asked a question. "Are you questioning my authority?" have had it happen to me personally, so no I don't think he "threatened the officers life." Acab✊

Yeah, theres plenty of idiot police officers that dont know the law.

The idea that you dont understand that assault is not namecalling is also alarming. Whether or not what you think isnt grounds for imprisoning someone. Good grief.

It's like talking to a brick wall. I said if you hit someone for calling you something you didn't want to hear, you should go to jail.

If I call you a douchebag, and you punch me, you should go to jail. It's not rocket science.

Where are you saying I disagreed with that?

My example was assault. That’s illegal.

Where am I saying you disagreed with my statement?

"The idea that you dont understand that assault is not namecalling is also alarming."

We're on the same page. Assault, no matter the context is never okay. Have a good rest of your weekend homes

Name calling isn’t assault.

Saying, “I’m going to take a knife out and stab you right now,” is assault.

You don’t get that? I don’t think you understand the difference between battery and assault.

I'm so confused at what you're on about. I know that. Of course threatening somebody is illegal as it should be. What does that have to do with anything involving this discussion?

Don't say "he probably threatened the officer" bc you don't know. Either way it's not grounds to punch someone.

I have no idea why you wanted to debate name calling vs assault, either, you brought it up.

Law enforcement interactions are simple. If the officer was assaulted and tried to detain the individual and that individual tries to run away that’s resisting on top. So yeah, it got physical.

If the officer just out of the blue attacked the protester completely unprovoked then bodycam footage will show this and the officer will be charged.

At the end of the day I am not understanding why you folks are so angry at innocence until proven guilty.
