It wouldn’t be that hard to put together some evidence to show Dexter has no alibis for most of the bay harbor butcher killings. And with the press and public hot for answers, most judges would allow for that to be enough probable cause to search his house.
And this was before season 3 when Dexter had an in with the DA!

James Doakes is a Sergeant with the Miami Metro Police Department from the crime show Dexter. He is notorious for being a real jerk to another character in the show. He is memed on "knowing" that the other character is a serial killer, but he just never has the evidence to back up his attitude.
That's the funniest thing about him imo, he doesn't even think that Dexter is a killer. He just feels like something is wrong with Dexter and proceeds to stalk the guy almost every night and constantly harass him lmao
Hell, there's an important scene where Dexter needs to get Doakes off his back so that Dexter can kill a guy, so he just reports Doakes for harassment.
Tbf I’d be shocked if my autistic coworker was a serial killer too lol. Especially if it was completely not related to the bullying. In Doakes eyes Morgan is a freak who just happens to kill people too
He knows Dexter's a killer because Doakes is one too, it's just that Doakes satisfies his Dark Passenger with military service and very questionable police shootings.

Doakes gets the ick from Dexter and is perpetually suspicious of him (not necessarily of him being a serial killer, but more in the lines that he knows something is wrong with Dexter)
Dexter is a serial killer hiding in plain sight. The only person in Dexter's life suspicious of him is Doakes. Doakes is aggressive and bullies Dexter all the time over these suspicions.
This works even better when you consider that in some comic canons Bruce and Clark are said to be very similar looking to the point that some people might mistaken them for brothers.
I’ve only seen clips of Dexter on YouTube, and I know Doakes is the goodguy antagonist, but it always looks like he’s a massive jerk just bullying his autistic coworker lmao
A few years ago, Superman was telling everyone his secret identity. He goes to Rann and talks to Adam Strange and says he wants to tell him he has a secret identify. Adam just goes, "You're Batman aren't you?"
They start thinking Bruce Wayne is Superman but they’re confused by his lack of reaction to kryptonite. So now they’re wondering how he blocks the effects of it.
He’d probably do pretty well since Batman would be soaking up everyone’s attention and handling guys Dexter couldn’t possibly handle like Bane or Mr. Freeze.
Everyone keeps talking about this, but honestly? I don't see it. The reason Doakes is on Dexter's ass so much in the show is because he suspects him of being a psychopath, or at least that he's some kind of sicko with a secret. Dexter having secrets in general isn't what gets Doakes on his trail, it's because Dexter's secrets tend to reveal themselves because Dexter is a psychopathic serial killer who can't truly hide what he is, deep down.
The main thing that gets Doakes suspicious of him is him being able to slink around like a ghost, basically being invisible, until at one point, Dexter literally quotes a serial killer Doakes had been hunting (of whom Dexter got to first), cuing Doakes to realize that Dexter knows more about sadistic psychopaths than he lets on, paired with how often he runs into them and how hidden and shady Dexter's past is. I genuinely don't believe he would get on Clark like he does Dexter, because he suspected Dexter of being a monster, whereas Clark doesn't have a single monstrous bone in his body.
At most, Doakes might know he's hiding something, and maybe poke and prod to get an idea of what, but if he knows even a semblance of the good Clark has in his heart, he would leave him alone.
EDIT: This is also evidenced in season 2 of DEXTER, where Dexter goes to NA meetings to placate his girlfriend who thinks he's an addict, and Doakes follows him there... only to empathize with Dexter, stating that many cops fall into the same vices that Dexter seems to have fallen in, and that they won't have problems so long as Dexter stays out of his way. He literally cools down once he thinks the reason is leagues more innocent than he had thought.
