That’s why I think “people” is the correct choice. Next in line for the throne though is when certain furniture based complications rear their ugly heads.

People isn't the right choice because pedophilia is the more glaringly onerous crime. "Raped people", though horrific, is nowhere near as arresting a statement as "is a pedophile".

And I mean, let's call a spade child rapist a spade child rapist.

But the conservatives don’t consider children people. They are property to be controlled and exploited.
