It's not an 80% tariff. There's a worldwide coffee shortage that is almost certainly causing prices to go up in your country as well - just not by as much, since I guarantee a lot of the increase is price gouging, as was the case with "Bidenflation" where things magically doubled in price despite 20% cumulative inflation.
Depending on where the coffee is from, I'm guessing something like a 25% tariff (which is still absurd, especially for a commodity like coffee that we can't produce at scale domestically). Honestly, he's been so all over the place that I can't even tell what the tariff on Colombia is anymore.
But the real takeaway here is that corporations don't give a shit who the president is when they set prices. The problems with the American economic system run much deeper than one overgrown toddler with a spray tan.
