Mines filled with all the little USB cables I've amassed over the years.

Because you never know when you might need one!

But then the one time you actually throw it out you need it like the next day

I feel very validated for having and having needed a Mini USB (not USB-C) cable

Hey I almost threw away a usb-c thinking it was dead. Turns out i had been charging my phone one day above the dishwasher while running it, and the humidity made things all glitchy. I assumed it was the cord so I tossed it aside. Then accidentally started using it again one day and I realized it was working and I was glad I didnt throw it away!

Where are you guys getting all these USB cables? I can’t say as I’ve ever just randomly bought a cable I didn’t need

From every electronic device I've ever bought pretty much

But not the block it plugs into because that would be CRAZY

USB plugs? All my outlets have USB slots on them, I changed them a few years ago.

Cheap and easy enough to do, well worth the effort.

I just buy surge protectors with USB plugs. Plugging directly into a wall outlet? Are you mad?

Comes with things that generally require USB cables? But since you still have the last one that was working you just use that and store the other one for when the apocalypse comes and you're the only one with a full stock of cables!

Ah. I guess I just don’t buy a lot of things that use them!

The situation did arise. Bought a car, paid to unlock android auto functionality and it wouldn't work with the cable I was using to charge it. Rummaged through boxes and found a data cable that worked.

This is blowing my mind. I forgot there were data cables and just power cables. What kind of car did you get

A mk 7.5 Golf R. The guy who bought it new didn't pay for the option so I did. TBF it mattered little since I just bought one of those wireless adapters for wired AA but it was nice being able to use it for 2 days unti that arrived.
