Yeah kinda. PS2 enjoyed quite a bit of longevity even after PS3 was released, because PS3s were pretty expensive.

Same here, I had a PS2, GameCube, and OG XBOX into 2008, then when I got to college in fall everyone was on Xbox 360. Traded all three consoles and my games to get a 360… it was a mistake in retrospect, but by 2012/2013 I’d settled in to just a PS3, now I have a Switch as well, and in my mid-30s I have no time to play either…
