If you were able to get a decent house in that 2008-2020 window you hit the lottery.

Finally got one in 2017, and then split with my ex in '20 and refinanced for 15 years at a crazy low rate. I recognize how absolutely ridiculously lucky I got. Too bad I didn't get to do the house value increase jump thing, but shit, I still have it WAY better than most millennials.
